Possible Virus??
I have been playing for about 3 hours, game closed down and I got a warning from McAfee stating there was a virus/Trojan found. The file location was "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Planet Coaster 2 Tojan:Win/Wingo.EAM".

After having the virus scare from Cities Skylines 2 I am now super paranoid!

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Why are you using McAfee in the first place lmao

I would strongly urge you to remove mcafee from your system.

I forgot to turn off my auto renewal... for 6 years lol!

I am glad I had it though if this is a legit virus from the game.

No, Mcafee is not even a decently function antivirus product. Then again you have been paying them for 6 years, super intelligent there buddy.
Have fun, should be easy for you!

For clarification. A wingo is a potentially unwanted program. Its a common term used by antivirus software that cant identify if the software thats running is even harmful or legitimate.
Mcafee at its best for ya, just hogging computer resources and money.

If you really are paranoid about malware and virus security, get ESET. Or you know, windows defender works well these days.

Well im sorry you're running one of the worst programs to protect your pc, (dont hover your mouse if you're sensitive to real life stuff) not to mention it was created by a batsh*t crazy person who hanged himself in his own prison cell

I wouldn't really trust McAfee, but looking at independent reviews from AV Test[www.av-test.org] shows that it's one of the best options out there for home users earning their "Top Product" badge.

That said, I'm wondering if the game crashing has something to do with that possible virus.

The virus is McAfee.

imagine still trying to uninstall mcafee 30 years later...

all mcafee is good for is scaring you into buying a sub. the best AV is your brain

its probably because this game uses Denuvo which works like a virus does lol.

There's a separate thread to discuss Denuvo. Please, no further discussion here.

It's highly unlikely that a game can be sold on Steam which has any sort of malicious code or virus in it. These games are not only scanned by software, but thoroughly checked by people before they are published on this storefront.

I am pretty sure you can find info on this on the web if you care, but it's highly unlikely something like a virus would get through these checks.

McAfee is worse than using nothing, and that's been true for decades.
