Co-op?

I am very excited about that. But, how's that going to work exactly?

Build with friends: Jump one-at-a-time into a shared save to build a park with your friends or players around the world across platforms! Save your progress to allow your fellow thrill-seekers to build upon your changes. Race to the top of the leaderboards in Franchise Mode, or explore your creativity together in Sandbox Mode.

I'm not sure this is really co-op.

The first one doesnt have the Coop label on the store page but the second seems to be real coop. If its the same like in PlanCo than its false advertisement imo because in PlanCo you could also do shared save

It sounds like fake CO-OP - you can play on the same savegame, but not the same time....

One active player a a time, that's fine. Co-op meaning co-operative, is a big part of large builds, so swapping saves sounds like it will be easier. Doesn't have to be the basic industry standard of "oh hey, 3 of my other friends are playing with me, too bad I have 5 friends online."

From what I've read and seen from creators on YouTube, it will be async co-op, which means you'll designate a save to be "shared" (and perhaps specify who is allowed to edit / build), and then one of the people can be in the save at the same time, without having to share save files between each person. Rudi Rennkamel mentioned that from what he's heard, and been told that it would have made Koali Beach and Koali Zoo to be easier for the group of them to manage, because they wouldn't have had to juggle sending each other the file.

Online-Coop is still not the right term for that and I am 100% certain that the game will get negative reviews because of that.
Online-Coop per definition means playing games with other players over the internet and play together and not share your save file and have a pseudo coop

A ever so slightly easier way to share the save game of a single player game is not Co-op. I really liked Planco 1 but I will not defend them if they pretend they are offering co-op in this extremely stupid manner.

If I can't build the same park with my wife at the same time then I won't be buying any copies.

In that case every game is co-op, I play Mario and then give it my sis or gf, and now it's a coop game. Total bollocks obviously.

When we reasoning like this is it is a strategy game too, and an MMO, I will give the save-game to the whole neighbourhood after all.

"explore your creativity together in Sandbox Mode." - Together would imply at least by English Webster Dictionary standards that they can play at the same time.
