2018 FAQ
My dudes,

I realize there's still lots of folks here asking questions so I thought I'd try to give some answers.

Is this game dead?
As should be obvious from the date of the last update, this game isn't actively being developed.

hat happened?
We had to get other jobs as we weren't making enough money from the game to pay ourselves anything.

Develop on the side?
Unfortunately, I was the only one interested in continuing and I couldn't do much alone.

Will you ever revive the game?
I personally would love to do it! But I don't forsee it happening in the near future.

Why did you lower the game to $0.99?
Since the game isn't being developed I felt it was no longer worth charging $20.

I paid the full price and I'm pissed!?!?
I can't do much about that. My only consulation for you is that we have the data for which steam accounts paid full price, and if it ever became possible to somehow compensate those who paid more, I'd want to do it.

That's not good enough, I'm so mad about this situation, there will be no forgiveness for you or your family for this. How can you live with yourself?!?!
I would just remind you that I tried my best. It was a lofty project (in hindsight, way too big for 3 people) and we gave it our best shot, and it didn't work out. If that's not good enough for you, then maybe nothing realistic could be.

Could you make the project open source and let the comminty finish it?
I discussed this with the other owners and I don't think we can. There's a few legal reasons that make it unlikely.

I'll watch this thread and respond for the next little while.

Hey man, its sad that circumstances have turned out this way for you guys. We take a risk when we buy early access and that's part of the deal.
I wish you guys all the best and thanks for letting us know. Who knows, maybe some invester will give you a wad of cash in the future to get a team together again and finish.
All the best

Sad story. I really liked this game and would have loved to see it finished :(.

Also if you ever want to continue and need help - I could do some stuff (I have some experience in 3D Art and in Cryengine; some examples: https://www.artstation.com/graf_fridula/albums/614564)

Which brings me to the last point. Is it possible to further explain the legal reasons? Currently I can think of the engine license which is a problem (since CE 3.xx isn't available to the public anymore). Are there more legal problems?

It is a shame but as Mad Dog Biff says it's a risk you take when buying into a ea game.

You guys are simply the best. I personally appreciate all your comments and following our development. Thanks for everything. If anything changes, I'll make sure to post to our forum here to announce it.

There aren't legal issues with the game, just considerations if we wanted to open source the game. Hope you enjoy playing what's there.

Sad to see this game die. But it was fun while it lasted.
For the experience I had with the game it was well worth the 20$ :)

I understand that there might be legal issues with opening the project up for open source, but is there a possibility of you guys selling the project?
There are people out there who probably would be willing to buy the game of you and continue developing it.

Miss the dev streams on Twitch. Good times. I hope this game gets revived sometime in the future.

You should consider taking it off the steam store or at least making a note some where on there that the game is currently on an indefinite hiatus development wise.

Hello ekcell, you could try financing through Humble Bundle's Publishing page. You should check it out.

It's a shame that development could not continue. Hopefully in the future it could get picked up along with some achievements. But for now, i'm happy to pay a Dollar to experiance what has been done thus far. It looks beautiful.

Thanks for the update excell sorry to see it fail. For a little while there I thought I was going to be doing your intro voice over and it gave me a real buzz! Sorry it didn't work out for you all, its difficult to justify continuing a business when the kids need shoes and there is no money coming in. Such a shame it cant be open sourced though, the style of the game had its own atmosphere. Best of luck for the future. :steamsad:
