Although I do wish updates were optional, the people complaining that it breaks mods is your problem, not the developers. Mods are OPTIONAL, so they don't care if it messes up your game, they're fixing the base game, that's what's important. Good on you Firaxis!"

Point one would be they used LW developers as propaganda for selling the game in the first place, giving them access to the game earlier an blah blah, so they pretty much sent a "we care about mods" message from the beggining of the marketing campaing, so that's also THEIR problem. That said, I'm complaining about several things here, one, that I really hate update politics that involve 7.7 Gb updates, they could have easily update the game 4 times in the past three months instead of this megaupdate BS,

two, that steam's policy of not letting you choose the version of the game you want to use, and I'm not saying they should keep up EVERY version of EVERY game, but atleast keep the updated version and oner or two more, and not even allowing you to simple NOT update your game and play the version you have installed, that is utterly total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and three, I've been playing bethesda games for over 12 years and when they updated their games mods didn't cause them to just blow ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, perhaps mods misbehaved or in some occasions stopped working or didn't workwith the new content added, so this is just crappy implementation of updates and of course it's THEIR problem.

♥♥♥♥, I paid over 70€ for this game + DLCs, so I totally have the right to complaint when one aspect of the game, that is also VERY important for me doesn't work as well as I, as a customer who paid for a service, think it should work. But this "hey it's a cool company, they make videogames, you have to thank them for their service" is all over the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ place and gets on my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nerves, if a bank or any other unpopular companies makes a slight hint of a mistake it's completely OK to complain, but if it's a company some nerd likes then it's "Hey, you're lucky this guys even exist, so just give then your money and shut the ♥♥♥♥ up".

I think you are just screwed Solo, or you don't have enough disk space.

@Jvara updates ARE optional, just unclick auto updates. When an update is live it goes into you're que and you can choose if/when it goes live

Yea killed every mod on the planet. guess I`m gonna have to just wait until Modders update their mods... Guess i`ll go play football or maybe chess.
Y`know once people could choose the patch they liked, but y`all just accepted this restriction crap for convenience- Well now you got what you wouldn`t complain about. Congrats.

Game doesn't even start for me after the update. mods are disabled and deleted configs. Do i really have to run a file check on 70GB of data for half an hour for a chance that it works afterwards? oh dear...

All that does is just update the game when you launch it instead of automatically as soon as there's an update. But it will update as soon as you launch it.
