I accidentally used my last officer corpse to make an incendiary grenade, before I did a skull jack and it set me back literally months.
Another thing is DON'T render all the corpses. You need them to make advanced ammo, etc. Never render hard to find corpses like shield bearers, Muton Elites and the like. I don't render any corpses, because I can't never remember what corpse is used for what item. If there's an emergency and you need crystals or alloys, then make sure you don't need they item you get from them.
You need to find the XCOM LW2 tech tree so you can see what's going on with that.
Yeah. The trooper corpse lets you build the Proving Ground and the Officer gets you Mag Weapons. But troopers are pretty easy to come by. Officers maybe not so much. You might get lucky. But you can't do anything without the Troopers / Proving Ground.
So I can finally(!) start autopsying the damned critter.
Still, I'm not going to be in a rush to get rid of my one and only officer corpse. Not easy to come by.
