Ah no I wanted to know if there are any game mechanics, already playing on rookie and save scumming, so well :D

Sometimes dark events come to fullfillment, even though I had no prior knowledge of them.

I've one last uncontacted region left. On Intel max 7 per region. No idea if intel in a liberated region is achieving anything but well, even there 7 set to intel.

Only once I was able to counter even 3 in quick succession, mostly I find those avatar project ones. Right now I remember, was it possible to scan those poles during a mission and effect the avatar project? anyway, no idea :D

Thx so far

Yeah, you can try to counter them, but that's random chance. The Strategic Dark Events will eventually expire. Those are things like having Faceless among the population or Chrysalid Infestations. The Tactical DEs don't expire. Those are the ones like some of the Advent troops having Scopes, lightning reflexes, added armor or greater mobility. Stuff like that.

You only need to set a liberated region to intel if you are trying to detect an invasion precursor, which is an Advent supply raid moving into the Liberated region. If that happens and you miss it, (or never detect the raid at all) then your region will be invaded.

If you run that supply raid and win, then the invasion is off and the region that spawned the supply raid will lose 2 points of strength. Your region can be invaded only if another region sitting next to it has Advent strength of 8 or greater. Invasions are very tough missions. You will need your best guys for that.

I have, in the late game, been able to counter a fair number of Dark Events. I have liberated all 16 regions and am pumping out a fair amount of Intel, so at this point I can deter a lot of Dark Events before they take effect. Needless to say, before getting to that late game point, countering Dark Events was a lot harder.

This is only fair, since Dark Events that improve Advent troop tactical performance is their equivalent of XCom improving tactical combat by researching better weapons and armor.

so far they got +2hp, viper ammo, melee resistance for robots, was able to cancel their +laser sights, and some avatar projekt gain

had tons of supply raid missions only ignored one or two, no idea anymore, some months ago

hardest mission so far was to cancel a meeting of a faceless and those 2 / 3 advents. only with a captain and 3 resistance guys, well somehow not that easy

seriously love the game when I melee oneshot a berserk, got to start attacking those stronger shadow camber related sides (1 month to prep lol, still I can rush it after 15 days)

The thing about DE is that they can happen in a sector outside of your realm of influence.
This happens to me in particular when i see "UFO will hunt XCOM" or "Barriers" DE or any other really bad DE and i go full alert on all sectors and it gets finished because like Advent managed to smash it up in mud hut in Uganda while i was searching for it in the US. To reduce chance of that happening, its a good idea to expand as far as possible ASAP.

Good thing is that once you prevent the DE, Advent cannot try it again.

full alert = ? all personal to intel?

and how long to you scan then per region?

Yes I read about it that they will focus on initiating DE in regions you haven't contacted so far
