times makes it BORING not hard. I have ALL the X-Com/UFO games and this
is the worst to date. The vanilla was no challange at all, and LW2 is just boring me to tears.
I would play ironman but the "Under the avenger" Bug wrecks that idea.
All in all a good game for fashon gurus and potential hairstylists. (no professional
soldier dresses like that or has an orange mohawk) Any hardcore fan of the series
is going to be disappointed and sadly LW mod does not save it this time, it just
turns it into Long,BORING war.
War is supposed to be boring, if done correctly. Exciting wars are ones where BOTH sides have failed to control the strategic situation.
Trust me when I say that even with the firmest of control things get chaotic, and dealing with that is the hallmark of a fine officer corps. You should never want an 'exciting' war. The reason I terrorize people so successfully in PvP is that I find their expectations and then frustrate them (among other horrible Romulan Menace tactics).
LW2 models an insurgency against an in place, superior force. OF COURSE there are going to be dozens and dozens of missions, one that need to be repeated, and ones that are outright failed. If you do not like its modelling, that is fine, but the people at Pavonis have done their best to give you their finest, is it perfect, hell no. But it is most likely the best that can be done without re-writing the base code completely. You can mention to them your ideas, and they will listen, but slagging them off does no one any good. Enjoy the show!

AS a former professional soldier i agree completely.
Military service is about 95% sheer bordom/repition and
about 5% sheer terror. This however is a game that is meant
to entertain. Most who buy games do it for the entertainment
value. Realism in a game is impossible, you cannot even get
close to the stress levels or workload in "actual" tactical situations,
so why bother.
My point is, we play games to be entertained, not to be bored doing
the same thing over and over. Lets face it, we get enough of that in
normal life righ?
Every rescue mission have a preset extraction point. That is why you can not call for the sky ranger. I guess that somehow your map marker got bugged and as a result could not find it. Saving and reloading should fix it hopefully.
Video Games are supposed to be fun.
sadly it did not. I ran all over the map...no extraction point.
Some games people play for the challenge. Like puzzle games.
Guess that some bug then happened during the map creation. The only way to deal with it would be a console command then.
But my focus wasn't on "How can I make this easier" or "These lazy idiots made a crappy boring game". It was on "How can I do better?"
Obviously LW2 isn't for everyone. Just looking at the XCOM2 discussion boards and there are like 22000 xcom threads and less than a thousand LW2 threads. Should give you an idea of the ratio of people who want a quick campaign vs. those who enjoy a longer campaign that does demand a little more of them.
Anyway, I can understand why some people in here who like LW2 reply curtly to people who use this thread to badmouth the mod and its developers. Obviously such comments aren't meant to be constructive, so what is the point? Just to ruin other people's good time or to mock and diminish the developer's efforts and creative output? There's lots of games I don't like but I don't lurk in their discussion boards badmouthing the developers.
It can be hard to ignore people when they act like that, but it's best to.
I need to clarify here that I have not bad mouthed anyone, I love some aspects of the mod BUT my comments specifically as the OP was that bugs, glitches, etc that trap a player in an already challenging game are overly frustrating to me. As long as folks are clear on what my point is then I'm good with that.
how do you do that? I still have the save game
see this link[www.pavonisinteractive.com]
over 3000 hrs of longwar1
barely 100 of longwar2
the mod can't save the game.
