20 is not a lot. It seems 1.2 will tune dark events.
Acumulation is probably why peoples are whining about dark events. Most of D.E are reasonable and make sense. Your troops gain armour, Aliens gain armour. Your troop gain hit point, Aliens gain hit point. Your troops enhance aiming, aliens too.

Now a great number of dark events affect only a few troops. Only mecanical are gain impenetrable vs hand to hand combat. It makes sense, it is full metal units. Only snakes gain hit and run abilities, it makes sense too. I am more reserved with lancers gaining lightning reflex. It makes sense but it makes them hard to manage for me (understand I m unpleased because it is not at my advantage so far).

Imo the major mistake LW2 made was to allows players to display active dark event list.
To avoid problem and jeremiads, I suggest to hide the active dark event list. In return LW2 would be more explicit on avatar project progress, and shows clearly what to do to liberate a country.

For OP question, I can suggest, wait patch 1.2.

After playing more I don't think the TDEs are that instrumental to failures, but I do think you can get some really nasty ones early game that can mess you up hard.

Hiding them is not the answer though. just putting harder restrictions on what you run into when would be best. We definitely do not need them hiding any more info in LW2 than they already do.

As to your question OP, there's a mod that makes them temporary. would reccomend that for your needs.

hidding D.E is only a solution to avoid complains. If you ask me, I would be favorable to exclude some a few frustrating event, or make them temporary.
