WOTC launch issues (resolved lol)

I got a bunch of mods (150+) and most are either specifically WOTC or made to be compatible or dont say whether they're just vanilla or not. When I try launching XCOM 2 via the AML it launches the WOTC app... but doesn't seem to do anything. When I try just vanilla via 2K launcher, it plays the intro movies and then is just black screen.

TL;DR apparently the solution was just to reinstall the whole game... whodathunk xd

Try re-subscribing to all the mods. I had the same problem after a long break. I resubscribed to everything, then I had to use 50/50 method (binary search) to find which mod was broken (maybe it got updated or something like that).
In any case it's advisable to do the full troubleshoot when starting a new game with mods.

In this time I realized one of the things going on was I didnt have the Alien Hunters highlander LOL oogh
(also had one other mod I kept missing for swapping to the WTC version of...)
But even with that, I can only last in the main menu a minute or two before it crashes and then I have to validate again.

Puzzling new development... my mods SHOULD be OKAY now. But when I go into my graphics settings, tweak it, and click Save and Exit, the game stutters/goes still despite music playing, then crashes.

Yes, the launcher only shows the expansion. If you have the other DLC they will be there regardless of whether you play WOTC or base game but you don't choose to enable or disable them in the launcher.

If you've been activating/deactivating mods to solve an issue you should clear your config files, there may be leftover config from mods you've disabled.

Yeah, been validating files quite a bit but it just takes so long each time. Only ONE file fails each time, wish I knew which but haven't quite figured it out. Last time it was two files though, but besides that, I'm now more focusing on the possibility of it being mod related and the other mystery about why the game crashes when I simply change settings in it, i.e. graphics.
