I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the 'Resistance Firearms' mod from E3245 is likely what you are after.

Resistance firearms is great, also check the Call Of Duty Modern Warfare weapon packs by the same author. The most recent one from MW2 is probably the best if you are looking for M4's and AK's because of its customization system.

Yeah you want the Resistance Firearms mod, there's no real competition. It even gives Resistance fighters AKs! Just make sure to grab all the dependencies and sub-mods.
