XCOM 2
Xenobiology
How will this works in general? You no longer control the government so you basically can't grab any alien corpse throughout the missions, and since many research relies heavily on dead bodies and alien technology(fuel plants, computers and stuffs) how can we progress through the stages?
Share your ideas down there! Meanwhile, have some chilling music.

I'm sure we can get the corpses from missions with objectives like "kill any remaining hostiles"

There are loots, maybe we could progress from that.

But how?I mean you exit most mission by evacuate, unless that lil' plane can carry ♥♥♥♥-tons of stuffs and bodies(and the soldiers are strong and quick enough to carry all the extremely heavy devices into it),I don't think it's possible to get any progress except those little weapon upgrades.

There are mission like gather intel and hacking into advent servers. Maybe it's the replacement for the alien autopsies.

In one of Beagles preview videos I saw him getting the corpses of the slain aliens but I think that was on a 'kill all to win' mission.

I saw a screenshot of the Viper's Xenobiology, so it's still in the game. There are probably some objectives that are far out from the cities where they can land their transports to bring back corpses and the like.

I'm pretty sure that this is how it's going to be now. No handy collection teams, but still enough scalpel-happy guys back home.

I think you can probably have a soldier carry an alien corpse like a downed soldier, but I don't really have much to any backing on that, so if anyone can confirm/deny that, it'd be appreciated

It looks like even on the "evacuate safely" Blacksite mission, players were still getting the corpses of their enemies, so I guess gameplay trumps realism in this case.

I think it's greed and not gameplay. Guerillas tend to be greedy when it comes to potentially usable stuff.

What are you talking about? Every time an enemy is killed you see "<unit> corpse dropped" in the corner on the screen, pretty sure we can take alien bodies with us, my guess is there is just a limit to how much we can take with us/store on the ship.

That doesn't make sense though,I mean on those missions end with evacuation.

I think they'll make an exception for gameplay reasons. There might be some options to change this though.

The preview videos showed that some missions, like Guerilla ops data retreival the mission ends when you kill all enemies, instead of being evacuate out. In those instances you do retreive all items that are not a timed out loot drop.

Check out 10:19 of this video to see what I mean.
