Why does the store page say 45G of space?
Is it really that big? i don't remember Xcom EU/EW being that big, though i guess higher res textures could play a part.

Eu with EW was like 16 gb.
Xcom2 is about 45 gb base.
The Xcom 2 modding tools are 50 gb.
So yeah this new xcom is very big.

Because they dumped all other platforms so they can make it solely for the pc and use all it's power. Thus higher textures, more, sounds, etc...

Yea i kinda figured it had to do with the assets. Being a (VERY) ametuer developer, though, i wonder how many things they put into this game. A texture may be big and fancy, but 45GB for a 4x game?
IDK, just surprised i guess :p

its called lazyness. devs just dont want to compress files. also trash files.
for example in xcom2013 there were both 1080 and 720p cutscenes. completly playable game weight aroun 10 gb but steam force you to install 18 gb.
Same here. It at most may weight 20-25 gb max. Everything else may be cutted or compressed.

Just make sure you have 100 gig free space if the data to unpack is really 45 gig...

It is really 45 gb. If you don't believe me check the store page > the system requirments.

Just delete some stuff you arn't using (like steam games you haven't played in a while.

The download will probably be smaller than 45gig; the required hard drive space is 45gig

I'm trying to find things I don't want anymore... but then a new 1TB drive is only about 50 USD.:)
