Howto upgrade from XCOM2 Standard to XCOM2 Deluxe

I just want to know how can I upgrade My order from standard to deluxe? Is there a way?

Of course I'm not willing to pay the full price again (wich is not possible by steam as well (god thanks)) :-)

If I buy the reinforment pack there are still features from the deluxe edition missing (Soundtrack i. e.).

Nobody is getting punished. It's just a simply inconvenience.

Get a refund, then buy the deluxe edition.

I did the same thing. I bought std version initially months ago prior to the November release date. To fix this I got a refund on the std version then bought the deluxe. Unfortunately this is the only way to upgrade at this point. I put in the refund reason that I wanted to upgrade to the DD version. My refund was accepted very quickly and I bought the DD version.

If you preordered on steam, you can get a refund at ANY time, not just 14 days after purchase. 14 days will be counted from release. So get a refund, and buy the digital deluxe edition.
It's stated in the refund policies, so they can't refuse to refund you... even though you will have to wait 7 days to be able to spend the cash, you will be refunded (although you might not be able to afford 7 days if you want to preorder the game at this point, let's just assume that you still have enough money that you can spend on the DD edition)

I just activated my keys from GMG for my Digital Deluxe edition, required that I entire one key first which was the game, the second one worked but didn't specific what it did. How can I tell if I do own the DDE copy? It's pre-loading right now.

Nevermind I found it under my licenses!

Bought the regular and requested refund. Buying Deluxe.

I bought the regular version and requested a refund. I am going to buy the deluxe version tonight. My issue is I still have not gotten my refund for the regular version yet and it is still in my games list. If i purchase the deluxe version will it show up as a separate entity in my games list or will I have to wait for the refund before I can apply it to my account? Thanks ahead of time.

You would have to ask steam support, since they're the ones that would deal with that.

i can tell you from experience that removing a game takes around 2-3 days.... cant help you with your basic problem tough sorry

First of all, thanks to all help and especially to devs here... but I think (having read all four pages in full) that some are missing the point of the preorder requestors:

May we please have a means to upgrade to DDE at a price equal to the difference between normal prepurchase and DDE tag?

I've never used refund and do not wish to use it now or in the future because I don't want that interaction associated to my account - into which I have put over 10 years and thousands of dollars. More to the point, I eagerly bought XCOM2 long ago, thinking that not only was I a loyal consumer, but knowing that developers need cash flow on a regular basis. Win-Win, yes?

Refunds for this have been happening quite quickly, by comparison.

Anyway, you should be fine to buy a pre-order DDE as a gift to remain in your inventory, then activate it yourself. I believe that the gift will be a pre-order version whether or not you activate it in time, as long as you buy it in time, but I have no confirmation of that.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I requested a refund 2 days ago for the regular edition and Steam credit was applied within 24 hours.

Now I have the deluxe edition pre-loaded :D

For anyone in a similar situation as me. I was not able to buy the deluxe edition while having the regular one associated with my account. On the plus side I just had my refund processed and have the deluxe version preloading. 52 hours after the refund request the game was removed and refund was pending (Not like I was checking every couple of hours or anything). Ty for all the replies. Just glad I wasn't going to have to say "That's X-com Baby"
