lore secrets or easter eggs

Hi, I did everything I wanted with the game and I'm about to play other stuff, so I simply wanna be sure I didn't miss any funny events before leaving since I find the lore and details interesting.

For example I read somewhere if you keep jane kelly to the end, she gets a special veteran award or something (is it true ?) but for that you must complete a game with tutorial ON, and I didn't know :(

So question is, are there anything else like this to witness, maybe regarding dragunova or mox, or whatever ? thx !

Jane Kelly is in Chimera Squad, that's an easter egg.

Xcom 2 is surprisingly light on such things considering how full to bursting the last game was with them.

The only ones I know of are.
Sometimes Firebrand will say "In the pipe, five by five!" which is apparently an Aliens reference.
And Bradford has a line in the Rulers DLC (if it was directly selected) what's an Indiana Jones reference.

The game still has it's Hidden Heroes like the last one, where putting in the right names converts your soldier into them.

Most of it's other references tend to relate to people or events from the last game.

Though finally, there is one area of note, though it's less an easter egg and more just a fun fact. Look up the voice cast for this game and then try playing Snap with the cast for The Next Generation.

The chosen Warlock will sometimes will say "The Unknown Enemy was Within all along!" as a reference to the previous game, xcom: Enemy Unknown and it's DLC Xcom: Enemy Within.

Not sure if that's a "Warlock mind controls a unit" thing, or just something he can say while browsing the world map.

Or it might be the hunter that says it... i have no idea.

Hero soldiers sadly disable achievements IIRC. so if that's something you're looking for, can't play with them :P

You can save them to the character pool and then use them in another game.
