XCOM 2

If I can run XCOM:EU/EW can I run XCOM2?
Hey guys, I've already preordered the game but I'm wondering what the game will run like. I can run Enemy Unknown/Within with no problems but I'm unsure of XCOM 2. Any word on the specs?

Yeah, the system requirements are listed on the Store page. They sound rather fair and not much higher than original XCOM.

Ok thanks for the help. I'm so hyped lol

Yeah....The system requirements are on the store page, they jumped the graphics card up to a gig from 250 MBs and the processor up quite a bit.

I can't really say one way or another how serious those requirements are. I mean I don't have DEMO *cough* *Cough*

I wouldn't be surprised if you could play XCOM 2, but to say the requirements between the two are the same is... like saying 2 = 8.

Well, we'll have to wait and see I suppose.

You are correct. I'm sorry. I had a 1 GB VRAM card when XCOM EU came out and in my memory that was the sys req back then, but it was actually below that. I falsely believed my PC back then was just the required.
So to eliminate any further misunderstandings, here are the sys reqs for X2:

Minimum:
OS: Windows® 7, 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 2.6 GHz or AMD Phenom 9950 Quad Core 2.6 GHz
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: 1GB ATI Radeon HD 5770, 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or better
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 45 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card

Recommended:

OS: Windows® 7, 64-bit
Processor: 3GHz Quad Core
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: 2GB ATI Radeon HD 7970, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 or better
Storage: 45 GB available space
Sound Card: DirectX compatible sound card

Do you think my specs will work for the game? I'm not entirely sure.

Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3217U CPU @ 1.80GHz (4 CPUs)
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Storage: Free Space 74.9 GB
Soundcard: (Closed spec window by accident but it is compatible for sure)

It doesn't say which graphics card your PC has, this is really important. What you did mention is okay for lower settings, it should run. Given your graphics card is okay too, it will work. But even if it wouldn't, steam has refund now, you could get your money back even if you buy it and it wouldn't work.

My apologies, I'll find it!

I have an "Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000" for a graphics card. Would that work? If not I still won't refund the game as I want to support the devs and would buy it once I were to get a new PC haha.

No, in that case I don't think it will work. XCOM 2 needs, according to the requirements listed, a dedicated graphics card and yours seems to be an integrated one. Sorry!

Oh ok. That's too bad. Oh well, I can wait I guess.

Honestly, I doubt it. It's a lot slower than a dedicated HD 7000 series card.

True. Also it's behind to what they advise as minimum for AMD, that is HD 5770. It might be possible with minimum graphic settings, but not recommendable as you might experience really slow performance, crashes, etc.

To be fair, i can play Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor with 60 FPS without any problems. Even though my graphics card is way below the minimum requirements.

Goto this site and select Xcom 2. http://systemrequirementslab.com/cyri It will let you know if you can run it or not.
