Thin men?
So I remember in the last game people said Snake people were now Thin men. But what is the deal with the snakes in Xcom 2 then? Also there is that one guy who looks like a Thin man.

Might just be me, but the snakes aren't really alien.. Sure they have arms etc but otherwise they just look like big snakes. Not like something that's alien. If thinmen were a product of snakes and dna manipulation etc then the thinmen aren't really aliens either. In fact many of the "aliens" aren't very alien when you think about it. So let's just forget alien and think badguy. They're the bad guys, we're the good guys. Kill em all.

About the "thin mannish" speaker in the Unif trailer in a interview with the devs the question came up and the dev said that the speaker wasnt properly a thin man and that he couldn't reveal more. so i guess this has something to do with the story line/alien project since it's the only thing that isn't being shown. Being that i think we are going to discover more about that speaker during the gameplay. :vahlen:

>Vipers are confirmed to be Thin Men, as they "no-longer need an infiltration unit"

Well that's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lie, considering the Faceless.

The Faceless isnt an infiltration unit, its a counter-infiltration unit (or spy hunter). You mask him and wait for the guerillias to free the citizens and then bang, dead guerilias.

Im reviving this conversation because it is interesting.

The Speaker is a Thin Man. You can see that he is, well, thin, uses the same glasses and has reptilian pigments in his skin (neck).

The Viper is the truly form of a thin men. Yeah the Boobs are in there to make the aesthetics look like a Gorgon because references. They might be asexual. But since the Faceless took place as a small scale infiltrator, the need of Thin Men in human disguise on high places isnt needed, except for the Speaker.

I liked thinmen more than snake ladies.

They looked somewhat strange and put some more creepyness to the game. While Xcom was somewhat creepy, Xcom 2 obviously resigned from this approach. And as a result, in place of thin man we`ve got a pokemon :D

all the cloned aliens are female. I thought.

Both games.

they are not however, mammals. so I suppose the question is why does the snake have breasts?

The autopsy of the Thin Man in EU said that their chest cavity was filled with poison glands. Presumably, without the fake human body, there isn't room for them inside their body, so they bulge outside.

How can the Viper be the true form of Thin MEN?
EDIT: This statement is kinda deceiving, i am not denying that Thin Men are genetically modified vipers, I am just saying it seems kinda weird...
I am a thin man who identifies as a giant female plasma rifle-toting snake alien.

Sorry.

The poison glands on the outside in snake form makes enough sense to me, I don't think these particular reptiles would have developed mammary glands in an evolutionary way and certainly wasn't given to them by alien genetic meddling. I also figured the thin men infilitrators were supposed to look like the mysterious "men in black" and G-men that come up in old sci-fi stories.

The alien hunter dlc explains why they're all female. Also, the old thin men were designed to look like a slightly off asian business man. They didn't need to be perfect, they just needed to be similar enough to get lost in a crowd. We only ever see them in missions together so there's a case to be made for them possibly splitting up and thinning out (eh? EH!?) when infltrating. They also look vaguely asian, and there are boatloads of asian businessmen across the world.

As for why the thin men looked like men if they were presumably female...well. An asian businessman is technically more common than an asian businesswoman. Without the need to hide them the genetic modification stops and new members of the species are made without the changes that hampered their combat skill in exchange for being less conspicuous. A thin man can't wrap you up like a boa constrictor or drag you with its tongue.

Because it's their original form. The thin men were mutated to look like humans. And if you're saying that cause the vipers have breasts doesn't really mean anything. They could still be male, their species may just all have breasts.
I get it, they're aliens, but
A. They all have features associated with human females
B. They are all mutated to look like human men, which is both ineffective (they ALL look the same, and are the same gender, making them stand out) and probably harder to do
The viper is the true form of the thin man, the game tells you so in more than one ocasion (autopsy and the first time on a missoin), it tells you that in a clear form, that leaves no room for speculation :P

The aliens are mast of genetics so it's not that difficult for them to change a "FEMALE" looking Viper to a very thin man for infiltration known as the "Thin Men" in the first invasion.

Advent and the Sectoid of XCOM2 are further proof of their mastery in genetics.
Don't complicate things. Genetics is the only answer for this.

Off topic: I'd want to have an alien mod of the "Thin Men" in XCOM 2! :D
