Physical copy
Anywhere I can buy a disc? Because 45GB would take forever to download.

That's just the season pass. Do physical copies typically offer those for a pre-order?

LOL you can get a disk with about 2GB on it then download the other 43.

No joke cos that's what you'll get for a steam game.

I don't remember it being the case with L4D and so on ...

A DVD can't hold 45GB of data, even compressed (for the typical compression you get on a game). Nowhere near. So you'll save at best a third of the download, and that's being incredibly optimistic.

Since when they give you only 1 DVD...
but i think they said that ,they will give a box with a cd-key and you use it and download .
for me 45GB its around ,hmmm almost 13 hours of download

I'm also fairly disappointed lately with "boxed" versions of games. The last 3 games I bought from the store only had a Steam Key included and some leaflets with codes for pre-order bonuses and whatnot. One of them even lacked the usual "Quick Start Guide". Pretty disappointed, especially since I like to show off my bookshelf... or should I say gameshelf in the living room.

That said, I'm also pretty griped by the fact that such huge games don't come in a 6-DVD set (DL DVDs can hold about 7.5GB). It's not like 6 DVDs are so expensive that it would cripple the publisher's profit... My internet connection is capped at 10Mbps and that's the maximum speed I can reach on a good day when most of my neighbors are out. Not to mention the fact that during the 15 hours of download, pretty much nothing else works.

I've had Firaxis games boxed copies of games that are Steam-only before, they had a disk with some data on, but only what will fit on one DVD.

I'm guessing it's most likely not going to come with any discs, except for possibly a CE (if one even gets announced). Seems to be a dying trend, possibly inspired by saving money.

At the very least, it seems like publishers usually give multiple days to preload. And 45GB doesn't necessarily mean the download will be 45. It could be 20-30.

Preload implies that you preordered the game. Not everyone does that.
Revacholiere Dec 28, 2015 @ 1:27am
Looks like I'll just have to preorder and preload.
I suppose there are worse things in life, you'll still have the 2 hour/2 week refund period though so there's that.
