cpu is cheating in Guile SF2 style
First the Archon does a blazing pinions which should end his turn. But especially he has only 1 turn because tactical analyses. Still he goes melee on me. What happened to the pinions idk... it will never launch

and the spectre. He uses one turn to move to me but decides he moves out. After moving for 2nd time his turns should end but still takes a shot.

also not sure why bladestorm didnt go... Sometimes spectres have shadowstep and other times only lightning-reflexes but my Advent already took an overwatch shot so that wasnt on.

no one? i was hoping someone could explain it. Maybe there is a combat log somewhere?

Hi. From what i see the burn on the bladestorm might cancel the blazing pinions, because the enemy is burning, it can't use an ability.
On the specter thing... it may have been a visual glitch or maybe a free shot at a flanked enemy.
Do you use any mods? Yet another F1 would show you if the specter has any special ability.

i am not using any mods.

an archon at fire or poisoned blocks the pinions ability? I am wondering which units are affected by that. I know my psi soldiers and templars often cant use abilities when disoriented.

still if the archon used pinions but got countered it should have been a wasted turn.

how do get spectres free shots? it looks like a run&gun.

The moment that you hit the Archon with Bladestorm he took damage and activated Battle Frenzy which gave him an extra move. Archons, Berserkers and Psi Zombies can melee, even if they are burning.
The specter thing looks strange that is why you should add the mod "Yet Another F1" to see what abilities he has.

the spectre is still a mystery. If it has a run&gun ability i've never seen it use before.

i see so many threads about broken games i dont really dare to install mods. What does F1 stand for ?

When you are targeting an enemy you pres F1 and (from the mods workshop page)
"It will show stats, active abilities, passive abilities, buffs, debuffs, the primary weapon, secondary and armor."

Also there are a couple of QOL mods that are a must for a more fun experience.

That is why i was telling you about that mod (F1) so when you encounter a situation like the specter one, you can figure out what happened. Same with the Archon.
Did you play XCOM EU or XCOM EW? They had the F1 unit information screen in the vanilla game no mod needed.

yes i played them. I even got all achievements but i never knew about F1 :SillySally:

i am still thinking about Battle Frenzy... i think i never seen Archon use it in its next turn.. But he usually wants to melee after getting hit yes. I usually take its blow with Templar or untouchable ranger.

stunlaunchers do the same. The charge-run their blade at you but when bladestorm makes them burn they break their melee attack, to move behind cover after and take a shot.

its cheating imo. Its an extra move away and taken a shot. Thats two extra moves.

it happend multiple times like here at 32:10. So its not the extra move Archons can get.
