XCOM 2
Mods not working.
I just got the game, and subscribed to some recommended mods, even imported a character pool a friend of mine made. I enabled them in the 2K launcher, and imported the pool just fine, but it doesn't look like they're working.

Mods aren't working, and characters aren't showing up. Am I doing something wrong?

Yes, you are using the 2K launcher. Use this one instead: https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/xcom2-launcher

Personally I'd just recommend looking to see if the anti-virus is blocking the files, check to see if anything blocked lately has "Xcom2" in the file name. Most common reason I know for for mods to not work is the anti-virus being a twit.

The launcher not working is a known issue. 2k broke it somewhere along the way and never fixed it....it's the launcher,

The launcher wouldn't affect the character pool though, you should check your character pool settings. In the main menu, go into the Character Pool, first check if the characters are actually there. Then make sure it's set to Pool Only. That way it will default to the character pool for your initial roster and any soldier rewards you get, at least until you run out, then you will get random characters. If you imported this character pool after you started a game, the characters will only show up as reward soldiers within the existing game. You need to start a new game to have them in from the beginning.

First check the mods you are using are suitable for your game. Many are for WOTC/alien hunters dlc required not vanilla XCOM. For me to get mods working I have to delete config files, verify game files, then on average load and exit the game 5-7 times over and over once in main menu. Eventually on one attempt the mods will all load up and be present. I can tell they are loaded or not if class mods I use are present in the character pool.

As for character pool files well its kinda eggy. It may be far quicker to just create the soldiers in the character pool rather than try to import them from somewhere else.

this makes no sense. because back then i was able to use both wotc and vanilla mods just fine in my previous run of wotc.
