how to equip nano vest armor?

Researched it, built 1 nano vest and can't equip it on anyone. Highest rank is corporal won't equip on them either. When I click on load out and click armor the option for the nano vest is not there. I can still change the weapons and nades. Am I missing something on how armor upgrades work, is there a class requirement, could a mod be messing it up? Only weapon mod i have is Grenades Unlimited which just removes the 1 offensive grenade per soldier restriction. What should I do? I'm lost on this.

It's not an armour, it's a utility item that adds 1 HP

what does that mean? t doesn't need equipped and It auto adds 1 HP for every soldier? So should i just build 1 of them, none of them(just research is enough), or one for each member of my deploy squad (4)? Can you clarify? i'm new.

Put it in the same spot as ammo or Grenades, it uses up one of those slots, and only gives you +1 health, its not worth making, let alone wearing it, because you lose a spot for a Grenade or ammo, which is way better than 1HP.

Its not an armor, it is a Vest that goes under your armor, and makes you one point healthier.

Nope, not the Nano vest research, but there is an exprimental armor, that gives you the warden armor, which is quite good, and there are 2 other types of vest.
There is also 5 other armors from researching alien tech.

Sometimes. But more importantly, vest research is a stepping stone to [Plated Armour] which is the mainstream armour, so you got to research it. And some of the later vests are very useful.

nanovest is a complete waste of time, as are many other items. One thing this game has an overwhelming amounjt of is redundant gear one waste a huge amount of resources on only to find its useless.
