Character Pool Nicknames - Hidden until "earned"?
I like being able to have noteable characters from campaign be saved to the character pool and be able to show up in another campaign.

Unfortunately, the nicknames also show up with the character right off the bat at rookie ranking, or whatever rank you finally come across them at.

This really irks me as I tend to hold off on giving out fancy gear, upgrades, or customizations to a character until after they earn their nickname. I also tend to prioritize soldiers with nicknames when going on harder / more important missions since generally they are my "better" and higher ranked soldiers.

So is there any way to set it up so that they don't start with their nickname but have to earn it again? I'm okay with them getting the same exact nickname or even getting an entirely new one.

If there isn't an ingame option or anything already to allow this does anyone know of a mod to do such a thing? Or if any modders read this... is it feasible to do?

If you want them to always have the same nickname, then I'm not aware of any way to do this. If you edit them in the character pool to not have a nickname, then they will start without one and get a random one as normal.
Excellent. Its not "ideal" but I'm a-okay with them getting entirely new nicknames. Most of them I know by their actual name or their circus freak like appearances anyway.

I didn't think it was possible to edit out the nicknames of campaign saved characters in the character pool though. I know if you freshly make someone you can give them a nickname, but I could have sworn that I'd tried to clear the nicknames of campaign saved characters previously and it wouldn't let me. Maybe I'm mistaken or it was changed.

Either way, thanks for the response.
