Is a Proximity Mine classed as a Grenade ?
Is a Proximity Mine classed as a Grenade ?

I have read on a few web sites that it is a Grenade, but I am not sure, I want to know because of the "Heavy Ordnance" Perk.

thanks

If you have a mine you can check, last slot of Grenadier is only for grenades, click to change it an see if mine is in options.

Yeah Mines do go into the Grenade Slot, so I presume that would be a Yes :)

Thanks

Well I have a vague remembering I"m wrong, that the mine isn't doubled, I remind it now but it's vague, if you want be sure wait another answer. :-)

Yes, you can have 2 by grenadiers if they have the perk for it 100% sure

PS: The mines seems glitchy though, they usually hit only 1 person even if more are in the blast range, sometimes they do hit multiple too... I have no clues why, and I tested on group that were discovered/activated and other not so eh, very powerful, very weird to use as well

I'd stick to grenades

They only hit one alien if they go off on an unactivated pod.

its the best granade in slot! the enemy take 10-15 dmg and it dont break stealth. i am allways happy like a child about the first andromedon in a non extraction mission ;)

That would explain why I thought the mine was bugged. It also makes them fairly useless compared to alternative slot uses. Maye I am using them wrong though.

Get set up for your ambush. Launch a proximity mine at the pod - at both if you're doing two at once. Then set any overwatch you want to (you may not need much), then break concealment with a shot or other grenade.

They can also be used to let a big enemy run into them. I've done that exactly once when I couldn't get the mine or other grenade to hit an Andromedon, and banked on where it would move. It worked.

I have only used them on one mission so far and I have to say with the extra damage and covered area, they are way better than some grenades, but then there is also the extra time you have with other grenades like, Incendary,Gas and Acid, that last for a few turns and continue to damage.

I have not completed researching advanced grenades yet so I am not sure if that ramps up the power on all your grenades ?
