That was a very good review considering he is biased about TBS games :)
a 8/10 now was very well justified.

Don´t forgot he loves the TBS gernre. still very well done not giving it a 9/10
Took some courage to not give in to his opnion :)

Very valid review especially since he ran into bugs and slow downs too.
Yeah the 100 savegame from the previous version still has not been fixed :(
So you have to stay below 100 savegame if possible. or move saves over.

Good review none the less, just wish he made more entertainement .

I Love all his reviews xD Especially those that have the things where he and other Joe dress up and stuff :>

Tho i for one, would not ever in a million years even consider playing a game like this xD I'm not much for thinking when it comes to games,

I just think he relied a bit too much on clips from his XCOM EU review, but other than that it was a pretty entertaining AND informative review. And given the game's state at release, an 8/10 is a fair score.

(just kind of wish he showed this "tough love" with some other games with shaddier business practices. Looking at you, Mortal Kombat X review.)

to be fair MKX deserved all the flack it got because it had an unplayable PC port and the main thing that was rushed to get fixed was the microtransactions. Xcom 2 didn't have the best performance but it certainly wasn't unplayable and it doesn't have any dodgy microtransactions. What we got was a full game with a few bugs that will be patched. 8/10 is fully justified.

Multiplayer is a joke and its not just basic

Homeworld Deserts of kharak multiplayer is basic but stil functional
Xcom 2 Multiplayer is a joke with tons of lag and dead from day 1

I was hoping he would put the jumping chrysalid clip from the gatekeeper mission lol

If the pregame hype gets me excited, I always check with AJ before buying a game. Hasn't steered me wrong yet.

To be fair though, Angry Joe's computer has problems. I don't know if he downloads and watches too much "unofficial content," and he acquired several virusses, malware and spyware from that. Or it could be too much tinkering with the hardware. It could also be the software he runs in the background during every game he plays.

He had serious technical issues and very, very, very long load times with Fallout 4, yet my husband's inferior computer played it without any crashes and load screens that took under a minute most of the time (one time took a bit over, but nothing like Angry Joe's load times.)

The only crash I've had with the game was once in the first week, with the Chryssalids. That has already been patched. If it wasn't the Chryssalid issue, I really don't know why Joe was having so many crashes like that.

I didn't agree with some of his disappointment about no co-op mode and "lacking replayablility" were the dumbest words Joe has ever spoken :P I guess he was reaching to find something to ask for because the developers improved the game so much from the first one.

TL;DR Angry Joe has an inferior computer and he runs a lot of stuff in the background. He has more crashes and technical difficulties with every game that he plays, and I'm not sure if that's representative of the common experience or not. You might experience better results than he did on your favourite games.

^ That's true, but I don't know what he's been doing to it because it doesn't perform as well as the much less powerful computers that myself and my husband play on.

I agree with AJ on most games. He liked a few games a lot more than I did, like Skyrim, but usually we agree.

I gave XCOM2 a 8/10 in my steam review when it came out also, for some of the same reasons AJ did. Namely bugs and such. If they ever get the technical issues ironed out, I would give it a 9/10.

Even though I have never had a crash in about 120 hours played, I do get slowdowns during action sequences, weird camera angles, getting shot through 2 floors when I'm on a roof, and that sort of thing.

I think it's spot on and you can clearly see how much he wanted to give the game a very high score but fairly enough took off 2 points for optimization, bugs and certain issues.

Funny how he mentions the game was buggy in an early build but it is probably better now after the hotfix, while lots of people get worse performance or borderline can't play after the hotfix.

Anyone remembered the famous old thread of "NOT PREORDERING THE GAME BECAUSE ANGRY JOE SAID IT IS TRASH" before the game release?

Oh yes, that was an interesting read every morning while I daydreamed about finally getting to play XCOM 2 :D Good times, good times...

Something is telling me that pre-release build was more stable and optimized than the final one, judging from how few of the early reviewers mentioned the poor technical state of the game
