Why does pressing my Caps Key tab me out of the game

if you're using the "shortcut" via capslock on after-mission-loadscreens, just don't do it.
firaxis confirmed that this will speed up the load time but on the other hand it will destabilize the whole game as everything that should be loaded in a specific timetable is loaded at the spot.

Nope. Don't use Caps Lock. Pretty sure half the 'technical' issues people have with the game is cause they keep trying to use shortcuts to do things. Force loading destabilizes your system and is crashing your game. Just be patient. Its like 10 whole seconds.

Lots of games lock up for me if I accidently hit the caps lock key. Don't know why that is.

It's not because of the loading or anything.

I use it when I type and instead of using shift I use Caps to do capital letters.
And pressing it always tabs me out.

That sounds like a key binding issue or something. Not an ingame key bind, but an OS keybind, maybe.

Er really?

It doesn't do that for any other game.
The only one that I know of that does that is Killing Floor 2.

Like say I get a message on Steam and I Shift+Tab to check it while I'm in game.
I hit the Caps Key to start off my response and it just tabs out.
It doesn't really tab me out because the game is still visible like it's in Borderless Window, but then trying to get back to the game completely tabs me out.

I vaguely remember that this was related to debugging in the game development, and was fixed with a patch years ago. Maybe just for long war 2? Used to happen to me, but not for a long time.

I'll check if it does it to me when I get home... I never use Steam Interface for stuff, nor do I use Caplocks to type or for Xcom stuff. Really the only keyboard thing I use in Xcom is maybe the Spacebar, and Occasionally, "q" and "e" buttons for isometric camera rotations. Everything else is Mouse and mouse button bindings. (using a Logitech G602, so lots of buttons on it)

The only class that's annoying to control is the Templar Class. Pistol Overwatch is set to something different than every other class in the game. So my mouse binding of overwatch, doesn't work with that class, I just use the UI for that one.
