How do I get "advanced armour"
I'm at the end game of my campaign currently and I've made Exo suits, the restriction being that I can only hold 1 slot. I'm okay with this but it saids I can unlock the second slot by getting advanced armour?

How do I unlock this or is it a class specific thing.

Do you have Exo suits or War suits?

The War suit(which is the upgrade of the Exo) gets an additional Slot I believe.
I'm pretty sure neither the War nor the Exo suit get a second utility slot. Their second "slot" is the rocket launcher (or special weapon replacement).

Light armor (spider/wraith) provide the grappling hook as the extra utility and dodge/movement bonuses.

Medium armor (predator/warden) provide an open utility slot you can fill.

Heavy armor (exo/war) provide a rocket launcher as the extra utility and an armor bonus.

it's a bug i believe there's a mod on workshop and Nexus that fixes it http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/66/?

It's not a bug, if anything the bug is it saying it is locked. The suits are not suppose to have an extra slot.

What makes you so sure. The Weaves armor literally says it can be worn under any type of armor, yet the utilities slots on the armor are locked and can be used only on standard armor types like the Warden upgrade.

A heavy weapons armor suit like the wrath/exo which both come with an Exoskeleton type machinery, can't even carry a third grenade or a second heavy weapon on the other arm?

Nor could the user wear a weaved armor underneath it? Talk about some serious limiting armor for such an advancement. It's literally a 2 step forward, 3 step back design in that case.

Because it makes the most logical sense. All 3 suits provide a health and defense boost of some kind.

EXO and WAR suits provide a heavy weapon instead of an extra slot.
Spider and Wraith suit give you a grappeling hook (and wraith gives you the ability to walk through walls).

Standard armor doesn't provide any other utility, so logically it should have an extra slot.

Exo, War, Spider, Wraith suits are specialist suits. You are not going to be equipping them on every soldier. That is what conventional armor like Warden is for. However, just because they are specialist suits does not excuse them from not having a third utility slot.

If anything, they should have a third slot because they are specialist armor. It is a limited design, no matter how you look at it. Specially for what they cost.

personally i can't tell what's a bug and what isn't with this game (apart from the obvious),just that it either shouldn't be there or it should,as i have fully trained soldiers with all research and still can't fill that slot

If they had an extra slot there would be absolutely no reason to use the vanilla armours, especially when you can easily stall mission progress and get a full set of 6 of them in the end game.

Limiting them to fewer slots is obviously a balance/game design decision.

Because Warden armor is advanced armor. It gives that extra slot to grenadiers, but if you watched one of the Twitch streams with the devs they say a grenadier with a exo suit can only take 2 items and the exo weapon. In the squad menu it says locked because you are not wearing the warden armor you are wearing something else.

So basically the oversight or bug is the text. The text that says advanced armor is needed, it should say must have advanced armor equipped or warden armor must be equipped.

Because a grenadier with a rocket, 2 grenades and then 2 extra slots is too much.

Just lower the amount of Elirium cores you get and there is plenty other stuff to research using them.

Lower the amount? There is already a super low amount and I have so many cores end game I dont know what to make.

There is a low amount, yet you have to much at end game.. so..there is plenty of cores. So lowering them would be a good idea then? or am I seeing this wrong.

I get 1 core maybe every couple of missions. But out of so many missions you still get too many. If you play the game more you would understand.
