3 turns I believe and it can spread to other units if you are next to them, also its 1 - 3 dmg

The duration is random. I think units get a chance to resist initially and each turn but I'm not sure the specifics. All I know is that the duration is usually 1-2 turns. Not sure if I've ever seen it last 3 turns. Damage is 1-3 but seems heavily weighted towards 1 (around 90% of the time on both enemies and allies) and, to be honest, I have never actually seen any 1-3 range DOT (gas, fire, acid) deal 2 damage so that may be a weird bug. I have seen 3 and I mostly see 1.

I have seen 2 dmg all the time from dots, think it depends on what poisoned you, the viper poison was dealing 3 dmg to my guys... when I first played I didnt notice it spread to other units if near them haha

it does spreads and for me it seems to last forever...

Just equip your squads with a medkit and poison shouldn't be much of a problem. You can even get that perk where a specialist can heal from long range.
It'll last forever if you don't keep your units spaced apart. Contagious snake boogers.

I think its at least 2 turns, after that its random if it stops or continues (had for example 2 guys who got poisoned by Snek, 1 was done after said 2 turns, the other one lastes I think 4 - 5 Turns, in which she panicked 2 or 3 times due to DMG during panick, lel :P)

Edit : Chryssalid poison NEVER Expires, so either Heal it with MedKit or evacuate the poisoned soldier IMMEDIATELY, esle he will die from it after a few turns and form a new chryssalid cocoon.
It also does more DMG than Viper poison

you only need to evac/medKid a chryssalid poisoined solider the turn before he dies.
until then you have a completly useable soldier and since you know you will be healing/evacing him soon you can ignore any risk of non-fatal damage
