But then, that's kind of the point. You're the resistance, you're the guerilla fighters. You don't have access to high technology on a whim, and the description of the armor itself TELLS you that it was cobbled together from ADVENT armor pieces.
Love it or hate it, the art team did their jobs on that one. Personally, I'm not a huge fan, since I like my troopers to have the best gear possible, and failing that, have the best-looking gear possible. The last thing you want a soldier asking before they go into battle is "Why did my people not even spring for decent gear?" Actually, you don't want them having any sort of self-doubt, and shoddy gear is a surefire way to make them have it.
But you go to war with the army you have, Commander. At least the armors come with a wide variety of customization options. You can even black-out most of those nasty shinies. Yeah, Predator armor looks like crap, but if they're going to dress us as trucks, let's keep on truckin.'
*clang, clang*
*Shhh... do you hear that?*
*clang, clang*
*yeah, it's us.*
Thats the thing though, the advent armor pieces are better looking and are not made of chrome. To be entirely honest, every other part of the game is high fidelity, and is rather well designed. Predator armor looks like it was shoved in at the last minute without anyone actually looking at it in game.
