If you flank the enemy, the icon of it become yellow. If not, it's red.

You already have this...

I think the OP wants to know before actually moving. Similar to how the game gives you a LoS indication.

I think he means before he moves, like how they added the line of sight indicator

I would suggest the LOS indicator turn yellow if you are flanking it

I think he means like the LoS icon BEFORE you move to a postion, as opposed to after

No, he wants to know before he moves. Like the LoS icon we got now, but let's say it would turn yellow when you hover over a valid flanking position.
It would just make you think less, imo.
To be sure to flank you generally have to be at least on the same "line" of squares than your target. Hope this helps !

And if you move your soldier to a cover make sure he can side-step to get himself in the same line as your target.

The best way to know if you're going to flank your enemy before moving to that spot is to look at the spot the enemy is in, evaluate his cover, and put your guy to the side or rear of any cover your enemy is in.

i know all that and yes i mean before you move. sometimes the view is just so bad and it is hard to identify if the square you gonna move is in line and would give you a flank. it is doable but just annoying sometimes. a mod would be very comfortable and i do not see how it would make me less think O.o

an actual visual grit (or is it grip?) would help as well.

I understand it would help you more, and perhaps it's not that hard for someone to mod in for you? I personally think you will do fine without it, once you get familiar with your soldiers and LOS in general.

Good luck, Commander.

Yes I would also like this, as mentioned changing the LoS indicator to yellow if flanked would be an easy solution.

I already do fine thanks ;) was just curious if this exists or someone is able to do that.

Use one of the camera mods to line up flanks easier
