Why not have coordinated 1st attacks in stealth?
Stealt allows you to set up and spring suprise ambushes. Wouldn't it be better if that first unexpected attack could be sprung simultaneously by all members of the squad? For example you could target a leader, or particularly dangerous enemy. That would allow for multiple attacks BEFORE the enemy could react and move to cover.

Set overwatch so when you reveal. All unit will attack, also missed chace very high.
You can use proximity mine to set trap at patrol. When you throw you won't reveal but when it explode you will.

You put the rest of the team on OW after they're in position, leaving one or two guys out of OW. Then select one of those guys to make the shot. The rest of the OW soldiers will fire as the aliens move to cover.

Note that OW shots made when coming out of concealment suffer no accuracy penalties. Also, I think OW in general is likely to hit more often, but that needs more testing.

While I agree that overwatch is currently the way to go, I also believe that each soldier should get a blue move (or yellow if you havent sprung yet). Reason being, especially in the early game there have been a TON of instances where I want to throw two grenades simultaneously (for example) to take out some stun lancers. I'm able to coordinate attacks like this in the real world, would be nice to do it here as well.

Definitely lost some soldiers due to overwatch being inferier to a well-placed grenade.

In the late game it isnt as big a deal, as in "must kill in reveal" situations I combo a proximity mine with a grenade to wipe a pod ... the early game is MUCH more difficult.

yeah i agree it would be nice to be able to make all our squad to act in the same time when undercover.
First it could be more effective than just overwatch and hope they kill the right enemy in the right order...
AND this could be visually very cool : with all our soldier shooting and throwing grenade in "bullet time" with the camera turning around the action, zoom and freezing on kill or critical hit... could be very awesome.

OW's just not the same, and enemy still reacts on that first shot. Realistically speaking, you'd think that your target would be surprised causing them freeze for the split second it takes your people to fire together, lowering their 'to hit' penalty because they're unprepaired for it.

This would make ambush attacks certain wins every time. They are extremely powerful as is.

When it's 4 versus 20 I don't think it's much of a stretch. Plus it would only be useable once a mission. That's how ambushes actually work in real life, you surround an enemy, and fire on a signal and try to kill everyone before they can even fire a shot back or call for help.

The trick is indeed to set the rest of your squad on overwatch then open up with your last unit. You get one free potshot, and hopefully your squad will kill most of the enemies during their overwatch shots. Unlike in EU, the overwatch shots seem to be spread out rather than all concentrate on one target.

I tend to use a grenade or other AOE for my first shot, cause after reveal the enemy mobs spread out making it harder to hit with AOE. Also shredding armor. Acid grenade is quite good for this, cause the enemy takes acid damage at the start of their own turn should they survive the overwatch, and it shreds a lot of armor.

That is already how it works, better yet - set all your guys to overwatch and allow enemy to discover one of your guys on their turn, you will get full round of overwatch fire and then free round to followup.

Lot of times enemies stop patrolling if you creep too close, making this an invalid tactic :/
However, this COULD work if an enemy spots a concealed soldier due to flanking, but again, only if they keep patrolling..

Usually when you do this, enemies will stand in place (not triggering your overwatch shots) and shoot instead of moving and setting off the ambush. And because they need to have your soldier flanked, the shot they get to take is a good one.

Overwatch. Just make sure that the guy who springs the ambush is shooting from a position which will force the aliens to take cover in positions where they'll be flanked by your guys on overwatch.
