XCOM 2

wtf is wrong with the hit chance?
6 shots. 1 with around 80, 1 with 70 and 4 with 50 and i miss all of them. screw you game. where are the singleplayer cheats?

Edit: Because some stupid ppl cant/dont want to read the whole thread i post it here.

As long as Aiming and i really mean just aiming and not moving, using item or skill doesnt count as action and resets the roll i am right and everyone who says save scumming is not possible are wrong. I did it and i can reproduce it.

Edit2: Okay made a 1 minute long video but its still 1GB big. Will upload it overnight so it should be done tomorrow. Then you can see it for yourself.

Edit3: Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1MiwBWgcwc&feature=youtu.be

Well why add Hit chance to a game when they are not even true? just a cheap muton and i cant hit it
jeffy Feb 14, 2016 @ 4:57pm
i almost never directly shoot someone unless i have to

TIP - if yellow icon appearns you are FLANKING THEM

Flanking and Height gives MASSIVE AIM BONSUSES TO ANYONE

Fun fact, the game actually cheats in your favour.

If you are playing on Rookie or Veteran, you get a bonus 20% and 10% hit (multiplicative) respectively. Further, if you miss a shot, you get a hidden 15% hit bonus until you miss again (including on Commander difficulty). Enemies on the other hand get a 10% hit reduction if they hit one of your soldiers, until they hit again. And if you lose a soldier, your squad gets a permanent Aim bonus until the end of the mission.

So despite all these game mechanics cheating for you, you are still failing. The only recourse is git gud.

its not always posible to flank them. or if you do its maybe DEADLY. its still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid i miss 10 shots with hit chance above 50%. ITS 50%!!!! that means average every second shot should hit. but 10 missed? and i thought xcom 1 were unfair. Does it help when i reload the game after every miss till i hit? i know there was an option to switch it on and off in XCom EU/EW

save scumming works in this game as long as your 2 or more rounds back from fighting

No that means that over thousands of shots at 50% that roughly half of them will hit.

Just like tossing a coin 3 times and getting heads each time, that's 50-50 too.

No you can't save scum in Xcom2 yet. Try to change your tactics

You sure? once i quit the game after a mission but forgot to safe. Had to do the last few turns again and did the exactly same moves but the result was different

That's not save scumming, thats just replaying. Save scumming is reloading before an action to try and get a reroll on it

Just like in the first game the devs would have to patch in random seed on reload

so you mean i have to quit the game after every shot i miss and then load it again to get something different?
format Feb 14, 2016 @ 5:08pm
if you take a shot (or anything else with a % chance) the game remembers that exact action and will repeat it regardless of how many times you reload. can be altered by changing the % (e.g. moving closer for a shot) but in general a failed action will always fail if you reload and repeat (stuff like hack progress bars are purely cosmetic).

there are several mods out there to change success % and/or allow you to "savescum" (makes loading a save reset the RNG so each attempt is different) if the game is too hard for you.

welcome to XCOM

Well the first time i play i want to have it easy. so i loved the option to change the outcome of a fight in the first game. kinda sucks its not in this again.

No, not at all.

The seed is saved so reloading will not do anything different, unless you reload form the start of a turn and do different things, but if you take the same shots with the same soldiers from the same places you will get the same result, the only difference can be crits on a hit.

You cannot get a different seed in this game no matter how many times you reload and perform the same action (yet)
