XCOM 2

How the hell you get mods to work?
I tried to get some mods that let me customize my soldiers with cool looking camos, ink patterns etc. But they all don't appear in game, I read that Mods don't work on MAC but I am on Win7, so I don't get it. I tried all mods and none works.

You subscribe to the mod in the Workshop, then wait for it to download.
Once it's downloaded, you launch XCOM 2's launcher.
In the launcher, you turn on the mods that you want active.
Then you launch the game.

Hit subscribe in the workshop, and wait for them to download. Then start the game and on the launcher you should see the mods downloaded in the upper right corner. You have to click on the boxes next to them to activate them. THen hit play and enjoy.

I sub to them but never see anything download, where can I start/check the download?

The download will be very quick. Just launch the game. The launcher should have the mods you have subscribed to. Click the box to enable, and then start the game, and the mod should be working.

Wth? Enable? When I launch XCOM 2 there is Play and Workshop, Workshop just links me to the website version of Steam. There I see my subs to the mods but never ever something downloads. And thus I never have any mods in my game...

On the launcher right above PLAY is a window where the mods should be listed. Try hitting the refresh button next to the word MODS. Don't hit the workshop button.

Above that should be the mods that have downloaded and installed. If there is nothing there, then you need to go back to the mod in question on the Workshop, and subscribe. Once you do that, you should see a download happen at the bottom of your Steam screen. Once that completes, you have everything you need.

I subscribed to like 20 mods now, never ever do I get any list whatsoever. before starting the game. And also no refresh Button. I will make screenshots to proove.

Here's a screenshot of the 4 mods that I actually want:

I tried restarting couple times, only enable 1 etc. It's always the same outcome. No list, no mods in-game no nothing..

Trying verifying game files now. Wtf it seems like I am the only one that can't get mods to work. I have a 2nd PC, will try to get them to work there now.

Okay tried the same with a different account and different PC. Still same result. I sub to a mod, I start the game and there is no list when seeing the XCOM 2 launcher. What the hell... :(

In your steam library right click on XCOM 2, Manage downloads..., and there you should be able to start the download with "Download now" button.

I had this issue also. Verfiied cache, deleted and redownloaded, manually made mod folders and none of that worked.

I did figure it out however, Steam was not downloading the mods. In your downloads you should see XCOM 2 - Workshop Content every time you subscribe. If you are not, check in your Steam Settings under Downloads and make sure you do not have any download restrictions on. I did, I removed the schedule and restarted Steam and was able to download the mods and see them in the launcher.

I recommend unsubscibing to the mods before restarting, restart Steam then subscribe again.

Yeah that actually worked, thanks. Steam is being dumb, download restrictions should only apply for AUTOMATIC, not for MANUAL downloads... it also downloads games out of schedule when I press install, so it should do it when I install mods...
