Any way to prevent Recruit promotion?
I had a specific recruit from a previous game I had put in my character pool and she showed up in my recruit pool not too long ago. My Psi lab is almost done and I pretty much had her earmarked for being a Psi Op, then I get taken down by a UFO and out of my 6 recuits THE ONLY ONE that they send in as reenforcements is the one I DON'T one to promote....

*Deep breath* I set her back and had her do NOTHING the whole mission hoping she wouldn't promote(I'm playing an Ironman game btw) AAAAND she did, but I havn't actually ranked her up to Squadie yet. Is there any way to prevent this?

Prevent what? You are on ironman you cannot prevent anything. Also why did you recruit her so early?

It's not like I grabbed her weeks ahead of time, I only recruited her 2 or 3 days before the Dark event happened, which was hidden since I'm trying to save on intel at the moment, and I recruited her then because I had read on here that recruites don't stay in your list forever, so I decided to grab her while I could, and since there were only 8 days before my Psi lab was done, I didn't think there would be a problem.

Shows me for thinking, huh?

Anyway, at this point, I guess I'm really wondering if I dismiss her without promoting her even though she's already earned the promotion, will I be able to get her back as a recruit that I can turn into a Psi Op?

I have no idea where you heard that. I have had Geralt of Rivia on my recruit list since the start and I just bought him now.

You can randomly get her. For example I decided to make me. Then I was awarded as a mission reward. I didnt like me so I changed me into someone else, then i got me again randomly as a mission award.

if you change someone in your pool after you've already recruited them they can show up as a recruit again, its kind of silly

Good to know, I'll not make that mistake again, thank you.

So if I have, say, Jack the ripper, but then I don't like how he turned out, I can customize the character and make it not the same as the person in the character pool, and then the Jack in the character pool could show up in the recuits pool again?

I think changing all the info options makes that happen

all i know is that i had made a character in the pool and then ended up not liking his voice when i recruited him so i changed it both on my campaign and then in the pool, then later when i was playing his clone showed up as a recruit
