Im not saying its the worse but its still terrible particularly so because it burdens the rest of your squad. I just wish that normal medkits works to revive unconcious instead of that one gremlin talent.
luckily she had 3 points of armor and 'only' suffered 11 health damage
was on Commander difficulty. she was fine after a few weeks in the infirmary.
Soldiers who are stunned can be revived and gotten back on their feet, also the stun effect will wear off after a few turns and the soldier will wake up. And the HP can just be healed.
Do they always miss? Not at all. But they miss often enough to not see them as the boogeyman this forum wants people to believe.
And, yes, they can render previously unwounded troops unconscious with their first blow in Multiplayer as well: it is not just a change for MP. Second game using lancers had one knock a viper out in one go (did all of 1 damage to their actual HP, too).
The gremlin can help only if you take the correct protocol at tier 4. Your in trouble if you get unlucky and your trained specilist is healing back at base.
But also the first stun will happen many time during first maps and then not anymore during a long time until they get upgraded and it come back.
Specialist has a skill allowing restore a permanently stunned soldier, but it's a one use skill. I bet most players don't pick it to be able try hack enemies (the opposite skill).
Huu I wouldn't advise a single soldier covering a skill you consider important. That said I'm not sure this skill is that important.
In that case it depends a lot on how you design your team, specialist can cover 2 roles, medic and hacker, and support both is possible but doesn't fill fully each role.
So a coherent option is 2 Specialists in a team, and then you need at least 4 Specialists in your roster, 6 to be safer.
For me stun is a great mechanism, after all it's better than death.
