and the pistol skills are incredible....................but no duel pistol skill ;( :::::::::::::::
I find Gunslingers useless lategame on Commander. Their damage output is too crap, and they benefit too little from gear upgrades.
At commander mode I pick lighting hand, the accuracy sacrifice is too pain.
Killing zone is good but low accuracy will ruin all your magazine.
Facc off is good too but your sniper pistol range is short that mean you are in war zone.
Long Watch
Lightning Hands
Quickdraw
Faceoff
Steady Hands
Fanfire
Kill Zone and Serial can be situationally more useful than their Gunslinger counterparts, so I'd pick them on one of my sharpshooters but not for my "main" one, so to speak. Faceoff is just crazy good. Pistols have insane accuracy in short~mid range, so it might as well be an extra grenade with virtually unlimited area of effect, whereas Killzone is, and this is a common complaint for me, too reliant on RNG. Same can be said of the Serial vs Fanfire choice, but that one's a bit closer. Hardest decision, in my opinion.
Return Fire doesn't sound very useful to me simply because my Sharpshooters haven't been targeted very often-- Long Watch is also quite awesome, even with Overwatch and Squadsight aim penalties.
Deadeye makes you even more reliant on RNG. That alone makes it a no-no. Doesn't help that Lightning Hands is absolutely amazing.
Death From Above is... a bit too situational for me. Taking high ground isn't always feasible, so I'd rather go with the reliable option here.
Aim... eh. I'd rather not waste a turn for an aim bonus if I can get a similar effect through good positioning.
Nice advice, I think I will try this if I have to restart my current Legend mode.
My main sniper was only even remotely contested in kills per mission and damage by my ranger. Even at a lower rank, she blasted my gunslinger out of the water.
How is killzone reliant on RNG? You don't use it on a hunch, you use it on scouted pods, then you trigger them and enjoy as many overwatch shots as you have bullets in your rifle.
Also, Serial makes no sense on a 'slinger, it is for the sniper rifle only.
