Don't worry about the Avatar Project timer.
A lot of people are getting a bit stressed over the doomsday clock mechanic. You actually have a lot more breathing room then you think. Once all the bars are filled in for the avatar project, the REAL doomsday counter starts. You are given an additional 3 weeks to halt the projects progress before the game is actually over. Simply just run down the clock and then tackle an avatar facility. The timer will reset along with the bar progress as well.

I wish the game didn't withhold this information. I felt like I was being rushed into finishing the game, but that wasn't the case at all.

I don't think the timer resets, it started at about 20 days and now when I get all avatar pips it starts at 15 days. (Had to make contact with an area to attack a facility.)

people like to whine before knowing how things work and playing it out.

avatar project can be held off almost indefinatly. u dont even need a blacksite mission. those random guerilla counter dark event missions knock blocks off avatar projects if the clock has started.

im not sure about supply raid/council missions though. in my ironman playthrough the avatar project finished at least 5 times.

It does, you get anywhere from 2-3 weeks to counter it from what I've seen. I've run it down to 6 days, and the next time it was 21.

Well thanks for the info. I myself have like 2-3 bars left before it's full and I'm starting to panic....gotta love this game xD

I pretty much live with a red flashing global map. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I think it might actually be a tad game breaking.... because I'm completely done with research on this current playthrough..... still have 4 facilities up that I can smash for timer resets and the mission progress isn't that pressing At the moment.

Just kinda farming for another certain alien to show up so I can upgrade a specific weapon.

Discovering this actually ruined it a bit for me. That intense pressure and fear I felt when I got to 2 bars left was incredible. I never got closer than that, but it was close enough.

Will definitely abuse this a bit on my next playthrough and put more time and energy into building myself up as opposed to doing everything I can to stop the project.
