XCOM 2
Soldier Permanently Wounded
Hi, my ranger has healed, but he's not available: https://gyazo.com/ecdb6dad36d1766c38d19f2749467098

He is grayed out but is status is blank, it doesnt say he's wounded and it doesn't say he's available it simply is blank. This is extremely annoying because I'm playing on the 2nd hardest difficulty so I need all the soldiers I can get.

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: This is actually the case with 2 of my soldiers...

I'm playing on ironman and rushed to exit the game so I pressed 'save and exit' as soon as after the mission I was on the screen where your soldiers exit the skyranger. The game also seems to have forgot that I lost a soldier on that mission because that soldier isn't in the memorial. Damn this is annoying, I would really appreciate it if anyone had a solution.

Thanks

Also notice how with that second one it says 'missions: 0' and 'Kills: 2'

I have the same problem. No wounded status or ETA. Still not avalible. My 4 top troopers on ironman. Deep in the game.

I did not save the game on the skyranger scene. But my game froze on the same exact screen. I shut the game down and reloaded. My troopers were out of commision yet no wounded status, wich they should have since the were returning from a slaughter.

Does any one have a solution?

Ihave looked for savegame editors. Found none
I tried the console cheat codes found here:http://www.dtgre.com/2016/02/xcom-2-cheat-codes-console-commands.html
All other soldiers healed. My A-Team still stuck in limbo.

Obviously i cant continue without my A-Team

I know this is painful to hear, but.... I think the best thing to do would be to let them go. It's what I did because it was too painful going into my armoury everytime hoping it was fixed. I ended up dismissing both of them and focused on other soldiers.... hopefully they're in a better place.

I reccomend you do the same, or you won't want to play any more missions, and you'll be a stronger person because of it...

I'm sorry.

Also I don't reccomend Iron Man because of bugs. What I do is the normal saving thing but I just self-discipline myself not to load up a previous save after my entire squad got murdered.

Just happened to me, so this issue isn't fixed as of April 2016. The game glitched out right after the skyranger return screen so I had to restart. Now 5 of the 6 soldiers who were on the mission are greyed out with no status.

Ironman and Commander difficulty, so no backups and no point continuing with all my best soldiers in limbo.

Also: I had finished the mission sucsessfully, but when I loaded the (now bugged) save, it did not give me the rewards and showed the same 3 guerilla mission options as before.

When playing Ironman, always back up your saves. I lost 4 campaigns to various game or mod bugs. Backup your saves after every play session. Trust me, it will save HOURS of frustration.

The issue happened for me under similar circumstances. I quit the game efore getting out of that screen when your soldiers have got out of the skyranger. That's probably what causes it. Also, I'd reccomend an 'Honest man' playthrough, where you do save for bug-fixing purposes, but you don't savescum. That much.

Bugs sucks, but playing with only an A team is incredibly dangerous

Agreed, alll it takes is one bad mission and it goes agonisingly downhill from there. Lost mission after lost mission....
Did you get stuck under the skyranger upon returning from a mission? That botches wound/mission progress if you manage to load a save from it.

If you're invested into your campaign, you can console it & replace em then level em up with commands. (Although that will level everyone else up too).

Well I personally dealt with this long ago, I've had 2 campaigns since I last had this issue. But I think the best way to avoid it is to just save a lot, and trust yourself not to savescum. Although we are all human.....

Unless you're a dirty ADVENT SPY?!!1!?!?11

Who?

Ah, ok. Personally I'm not having this problem ATM, but I suspect that if my game crashed during the 'mission summary' screen, if you will (the one where your soldiers have walked out of the avenger), then I'd probably have this problem again. I just disimssed the soldiers that were bugged and moved on, painful as it was.

This happened to me with two soldiers. The good news you can get them back! The bad news is that it is situational.

They way I got them back was I was attacked by the UFO. Since injured soldiers can be used in that mission I was able to place them in the opening wave, and keep them alive.

I also noticed that while they were not selectable, they would pop up if I clicked on auto-fill during deployment. I never deployed them because I was playing Ironman and I was afraid to go into a mission with one less able-bodied soldier. But seeing as what happened with the UFO attack, I bet if you're lucky enough to get them from auto-filling your deployment team, they would be start the mission injured (like the UFO attack) and be selectable again if brought back alive.

Use the second suggestion at your own risk, I'm only extrapolating. The UFO attack does work !00%. Hope my 2 cents help.

Thanks for the input! That's pretty interesting, but are the UFO attacks scripted? If so, maybe if this bug happens to someone after they've already survived a UFO attack will they never have another one again?

I'm not entirely sure how the UFO attacks work. Like I said, the fix is situational. I've been attacked at least once around midgame in all of my games. But I have heard of people who never see it. If you've already done that mission, your best bet may be to use auto-fill before deployment. The fact that auto-fill has a chance to choose these bugged soldiers, but never truly wounded soldiers, makes me think they'll enter the mission with lower health just like UFO attacks and the final mission.

But wait 'til you see an easy mission, and only do one of the two soldiers. That way you have the best possible chances of success if the bugged soldiers are unusable.
