XCOM 2

Line of Sight, is a Joke
the system is un-predictable for when it thinks something is in LOS, and when something is NOT

meaning you can't count on cover, which is extremly important in a COVER-SHOOTER !
(say whaat)

Im standing in a building, Door is closed there is wall between me and the enemies,
still trigger Overwatch, and get shots though a SOLID Wall/Door

futher more,
the Aliens doesn't trigger overwatch hafe the time, even when there is a Clear LOS, and they are within range

Cover is just a number, and nothing more, which is bull, imo

A number that never works in my favor, as the enemies hits with a 90% accuacty vs my 31%
(this is the Sniper Mind you)

I've reached the point where the game stoped being fun to play, based sololy on this
as it makes combat, super stupid :steamsad:

Don't get flanked, and always go for full cover when you can. Cover works fine. The game even tells you if you'll be in sight of an enemy if you move to a different location.

The shooting through closed doors is definitely an issue, but otherwise overwatch works like it needs to. On a different note, if you snipe with a 31% chance, you may have been looking at the game the wrong way.

Another complaint about LOS and difficulty, sure add it to the pile.

Yeah, I know that feel, my apparently-psychic soldiers are sometimes blasting aliens through walls, doors, trees, cars, solid metal...

Or they believe a giant white robot minimally obscured behind a stump is suddenly invisible.

well, there are glitches in the maps, but when you think a tree or a car prevents enemy fire you have no clue about the game mechanics.

No, what I'm saying is that there are times when the soldiers can see the aliens and fire accurately when there's no friggin way. But that's just XCOM.

Ah, the 'peek' mechanic. Non-cover units are obscured by 'full cover' objects since they don't look around the sides like normal units.
It was an important part of MEC use in X-com EU/EW. Though how a 9-ft tall bulky (pink) battlesuit hid behind a stack of 5 tires...

Then there's the 1-step rule. If moving a single tile takes you out of overwatch LOF, it doesn't trigger. Same with moving one tile into (though I have had this glitch sometimes in cases of dropping down from a roof).
That said, there are some glitches with LOS/LOF when changing position. Usually a save/reload fixes it.

The door thing makes no sense, but has come in handy a few times.

as i said, there are glitches on the maps (as till today in xcom eu/ew, long war mod fixed most of them) so yeah totally possible. but a tree or a car will never prevent enemy fire and give only a cover bonus because to be save from enemy fire you need the tiles next to you have full cover too (basically three tiles with full cover and you are in the middle and no tree or car has this) and then you nor the enemy have line of sight.
basically the game mechanic works like this, if you are behind full cover and tiles next to you are not, you lean out of the cover for sight or shots and so the enemy can shoot at you. sadly the visuals doesnt present this most of the time and only show someone hitting through the cover.

I get why the game does what it does, it's just the animations don't always match up (like you said) and it makes it look... off

Same, it was probably my biggest complaint from XCOM:EU. I was hoping they'd add more animations to make it look smoother, but alas. Still an amazing game so far tho, even as buggy as she is sometimes

with action cam i have seen multiple times that the soldier leans out of cover before he gets shot, but not always and never without action cam

There is definelty some wonkiness but it is improved of EU:EW. The new feedback telling you if there is LOS when you hover of map tiles really helps out alot.

You can actually use it to see if a route will get OW, by looking at the route line and then hover over each position in the movement. You will see if any enemies get LOS during the run before you actually do the run.

I never said a tree or a car

I said a SOILD wall, and Door
from outside though a House, if that is not full cover, then please tell me what is
