This. though I find most of it terrible minus AP rounds. Grenades however...
Pretty much all ammo is useful for your snipers as they are often to long range for grenades anyway.
And for OP it seems as a rule nothing in Xcom gets used up in a mission unless it expreslly tells you it will be, as long as you get the person with it home then you keep anything.
Thats the only class I can think of that would want to use it anyway. MAYBE shotgun rangers too.
The only thing that gets used up entirely in a mission is the Combat Stim from the zerkers. everything else is reusable. And the combat stim actually says it gets used up.
Personally I love the dragon rounds (and the bluescreen rounds for the late game in mech heavy missions).
I mainly use those special rounds on snipers and my single grenadier that is more focused on using his gun over the launcher.
nades though I mostly only use incendiary and acid.
Acid's good as a backup grenade to shred armor from a Gatekeeper or a Sectopod (unfortunately they don't do anything to Andromedons though)
I just use Landmines. They do SO MUCH DAMAGE. Poop out a landmine, then fall back to get the pod to move, activating the landmine then KABOOOM, they're all gone.
