All Hail the Glorious FLASHBANG
all jokes aside, i think that bringing a couple of flashbangs to every mission is as important as having proper tactics. anyone else thinks the same?

Being able to break bounds, mind crontrols, confusing, the HUGE AoE, its also stops enemies from using certain skills and the fact that your troopers are inmmune to it makes it, by far, one of the most usefull gadgets. hell, couple that with a granadier and you pretty much can rescue anyone anywhere.

I'm a fan of mimic beacons, I am so addicted to those damn things. Throw them somewhere and they will cause the enemy to shoot them first. I bring like 2 on every mission, I mainly use them on timed missions when near evac, throw one, the enemies sitting at evac on overwatch will either focus fire them on their next turn or go back to overwatch which means easy kills either way.

oh man, the first time i tried the mimic beacon happened to be just before i skulljacked.... Man i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ loved that, i had no idea the dude spawned after that. that lucky action turned what appears to be a tough enemy into a freaking cakewalk. dude got hit, split and then one clone landed right beside my ranger (lol), and the other one remained in sight of my gauss sniper.

Why flash bang when you can Gas or Acid grenade the dudes? As to mimic beacons, they are crazy good, basically chuck one in cover and it usually protects your guys from at least 2/3 attacks.

havent tried any of them, but are their AoEs as huge as the flashbang?

I need to use Proving Grounds more I had no idea there was so many grenade types.

Mimic beacons need a nerf. If I can find where to edit mimic beacon health down to 1 I would do it. This would still soak up one attack.

How are they OP? They deal no damage and usually only soak two attacks and later on only one.

The gas nades have a large AE, and acids are pretty good, but do more damage..

i imagine it would even out the longer you go with the game, keeping relatively usefull vs extremely tough and strong enemies

I just feel like I can chuck one out with 3 of my guys flanked and not have to worry about anything that next turn. They are a bit too good IMO. I'm not sure about later on.

Do Acid/Gas grenades disrupt psionics? I always bring a Flash to disrupt any unfortunate mind control. I lost one of my best troops to a mind controlled shot. Never again.
Stratigamo Feb 7, 2016 @ 12:39pm
That's a good question, but I'm pretty sure Acid does not. Gas might, though. Acid is best used on armored enemies. Huge shred on them.

Throw your mimic beacon into high cover. He can dodge!!!!!!

ALL HAIL MIMIC BEACON!

WAIT!
Flashbang breaks mindcontrol? Damn that's awesome.

And yes, flashbang is pretty much a must have if you run the alphastrike/CC tactic of never letting the enemy get any shot off.
