Anyone else finds that Archons are OP?
Damn these guys are giving me squad wipes on Commander difficulty! I seriously find them OP. They have a natural defence stat AND they seem to graze like 75% of my shots.

I find them ok on normal difficulty, just big damage sponges.

Make Archons mechanical so I can hack them like Sectopods

Gatekeepers are more annoying though, THEY are the true damage sponges

This thread reminds me of the first time I ran into a Momma Chrysalid in EW Long War mod...lol

They're not TOO bad, but you need a grenader to hit them with an Acid or fire grenade. Or if you can get a mine below them, watch as they either die or take off more than half their health.

Shame when Gatekeepers appear you have more than enough tools to make them a non issue.

I know you most likely dont have this either.
But a PSI soldier with mind control is pretty good against them as well :)

I mean if you also have a pistol specced Sharpshooter they can shoot the archon 3 times the first turn, 2 times the next couple til they get to Corporal, when they get a 3 hit combo in additon to the free shot and the first action pistol shot. That just tears through anything without armor.

And Faceoff is love if you have 2-3 sharpshooters and they have vision on 10 things. Its fun seeing an entire map die to 3 faceoffs, but the setup to that takes a bit.

Flashbang and burning will prevent them from raging when you hurt them (the rage makes them have 3 action points instead of 2), meleeing, or using their pinion ability. Flash will also slow them and hurt their accuracy.
