XCOM 2
Face Off skill seems a bit lacklustre
Well for starters it's competing with Killzone, and we all know how awesome that is. I thought I'd give it a go though, since it sounded like a fun ability.

So far there's only been 2 times in my playthrough where it was pretty good, has anyone else found any tactics/team setups to make this skill work really well?

It's another round of Sniper skills being fairly evenly split between Sniping Sniper and Gunslinger Sniper. If you build for pistols, yeah, I can see how most of the pistol skills are honestly much more useful than the previous game.

That said, I just used Face Off to murder like three people in the middle of a turn.

A gunslinger sniper with blue screen rounds is excellent. Gatekeepers and codexes are a breeze, and mechs arent even worth mentioning.

Even on commander difficulty, it feels like as long as you survive the initial advent doom clock and get your grubby mitts on access to some facility leads to bank and higher tier weaponry, you are good to go.

it's excellent actually. Late game, you have a lot of Robotic enemies. faceoff with blue round shots gives you a crazy amount of shots against units susceptible to those rounds. If you strip the armor before these shots.... Oh man.

Its a very useful ability that I would put on par with Killzone.

It combines very well with special ammo types, the Alien Hunters DLC pistol and the other gunslinger abilities.

Of particular note, the top rank pistol ability Fan Fire, counts as a pistol attack for Quickdraw purposes!
This might not seem relevant as the same isn't true for Face Off, but as Face Off only requires 1 action to initiate it means you can use all three of a gunslingers special actions (lightning hands/faceoff/fanfire) in one turn for immense burst damage. Its always nice to hit a tough enemy 5 times and everything else you can see once in a single turn, think Sectopod/Gatekeeper with an accompanying pod or two as backup.... while using bluescreen :steammocking:
