XCOM 2
This game is a lot more frustrating than fun
I bought the game because I liked the first one and I am a fan of the original. but this? Holy crap. This is nothing but frustration. It's not just the TERRIBLE performance, but the complete BS that the game throws at you from mission one. You are usually outnumbered 3:1 and good luck if you haven't been able to research any armor early on.
You are required to act as fast as possible to stop the AVATAR project, leaving you barely any time to actually get your gear together. I am constantly sending undergeared soldiers into suicide missions because I neither have the time nor the funds.

Yeah, I would not recommend the game at this state. Unless you are into getting screwed over by the game and it's ridiculous RNG 90% of the time.

I've lost maybe 5 soldiers so far after about 20 missions....I suggest turning down the difficulty if you're having trouble...

to be fair, the first 2 or 3 missions can be very hard, after this things will start to become much easier for a while

It's just different I hated enemy unknown because it was such a dumbed down version of the origonal with fancy graphics and super special soldier abilities but it grew on me this one I actually like out of the gate, no military in the history of the earth clears a town by walking up to the front gate with a gun and just waiting the military is quick but precise and with the other added elements I feel this game was a great step in the right direction.

So far on legand difficulty 7 missions in 2 deaths both to my mistakes not too rng.

No, missions without armour get incredibly annoying mostly because of the tructure of the enemy units.

I mean, on one hand they fight overwatch abuse by adding timers.

On the other, they add bloody enemy rangers with shock batons that seriously invite overwatch abuse and heavy zoning.

Ridiculous is the word.

Focus targets that need focusing and overwatch is still usable have yet to have an issue with the shock troopers, not to say that they couldn't be a real pain in the wrong scenario but as of yet they present little issue once I realized they were a threat.

Well, the first pod is ambush fodder so that's easy. For the remainder... don't forget units take fall damage now. My favorite strategy for vipers especially is to lure them onto roofs and blow the building out from under them.

\o/ Ive played 20 hours so far and havent done anything.

1) I cant build any good buildings because avatar

2) cant scan because these dark events pop up and I waste time scanning

3) avatar project is cancer and bad for the game

I've been playing on Veteran (second-lowest difficulty) for almost 30 hours, and while it's brutal and I'm probably going to lose soon, it DOESN'T feel like the game is RNG-reliant or unfair. It's just really difficult. And that's awesome. I've learned a lot from this first run, and am looking forward to EITHER turning it around OR starting again once the resistance fails this time around.

This works as well for turrets on roof, blow the roof bye the turret. At first i thought the game was unfair playing on hardest difficulty. I'm 11 hours in now and i rarely have a member of my team killed. The difficulty at the moment comes from the injusries sustained and the huge amount of time needed to recover. But i guess that's a good thing.

First few hours the game was frustrated borderline boring, now it's fun. Do not expect to play the last xcoms, it's different. Once you get used to it it's even more fun and at least more challenging.

True story. And the specialist drone attack ignores turret armor! 1-shot kill!

I feel like that's kind of the point. XCOM is unforgiving and brutal.

This sounds more like a case of needing to git gud instead of venting your frustrations here because you played badly

Maximize your chances. Any xcom veteran can tell you this, move wisely and put everything in your favor as most as possible to come out on top, sure sometimes it can go wrong but that's xcom baby.

I'm playing Vet on Ironman and I'm just about to start my 11th new game. Those dudes with the swords are effing crazy, huge moment range and can take out an op in one blow. The snake guys, their bind ability is off the hook. Their toungs are as almost as long as my peener, my dudes getting snatched half way across the continent. The performance is way lacking, I'm on an 8core, 16gig ram gtx980ti and and even that rig can't make sense of it.

I've just come out of Mordheim, I'm like that ♥♥♥♥ chick who cliams she got PTSD off the internet people. I have to have a treatment team because of games like this. Not just a GP, a team of people all trying to figure out how to reduce the size of my privates.

I don't know what any of that means, but I'm triggered.
