but even then surely you should still beable to use it... just with a lower CtH <facepalms>

but im sure there was a similar game that allowed you to still fire a sniper rifle.... just at a cut % in CtH rate
(if that sounds familiar, can anyone remember what the game was)

It was same in XCOM EU EW too
What's even stranger is that they run up the hill holding the rifle, put the rifle in their pack, unholster their pistol, aim the pistol, shoot the pistol, holster the pistol, and finally take the rifle back out of their pack. In what world does doing all of that take less effort and less time than just shooting from the rifle you were already holding?
Prime example why inbreeding is bad and the North should of cheered when the South left.
