Same here: http://i67.tinypic.com/wase3m.png

OS: Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6770M
RAM: 8GB DDR3 Synchronous @ 1333 MHz
Native Linux steam client

Safe to say this release is absolute trash. I'm seeing hundreds of users reporting the same issues. Bugs I can understand but $59.99 and you can't even get the game to run?

I spent the last 24 hours trying to get this to work. I tried Windows and I got the black screen and an error related to xcom2.exe, re-downloaded the game 3 times, now I get this on Linux. I'll be seeking a refund soon if I cannot get a solution.

I had the error on a R9 270X on current 14.04 x64 with the free drivers. Installing the latest (crimson) fglrx drivers allowed the game to work, with relatively bad performance and of course the Feral "This graphics card is unsupported" warning. Oh, and sometimes the game won't start after waking from suspend (restart fixes it; this may be an issue with the driver as I have the same with some other games).

I did need the latest fglrx from the AMD page though, using older fglrx such as the one from the ubuntu updates repository didn't work. Just download the four .deb files and install them (core first, dev and amdcccle last), but full guides should be available online.

When the game works, it's tremendous fun.

Thank you wolki. In terms of the .deb files, should we just follow this guide: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Trusty_Installation_Guide

I'd figure it out myself but I'm really exhausted Googling error codes.

Yes, that's the guide I used.

I'm not an expert with graphics cards, but yours might be a bit underpowered for XCOM2 (especially as it's an AMD card on Linux). It's certainly worth a try though.

I have latest AMD proproitary drivers, so i don't thins it's a problem in my case. But i'll clean reinstall drivers to make sure

Hm, weird. Did you install some updated version of Xorg (or similar packages), such as through the Xorg-edgers PPA, or do you have stock Ubuntu 14.04.3?

Using the latest Mesa drivers compiled using LLVM 3.8 will provide better performance than AMD closed source drivers on Linux (14.04 uses an older compiler so does not support OpenGL 4). We don't support AMD graphics cards on Linux (yet) but based off the work we have done in development the Mesa drivers out perform fglrx at this time.

Contact support for more details.

Thanks for the tip; I'll try that once the new Ubuntu LTS is out which has more current versions I hope.

And btw, I think you guys did a fantastic job with this game, even if it's not officially supported on AMD.

Thanks for the kind words, the next update will add more performance and graphical fixes for Mesa as part of our goal to be able to announce official support for AMD cards in the future.

I still get this error when trying to run it. From what I understood, this error is linked to the driver in use for the GPU. But what triggers it? When the driver cannot provide the necessary features for running the game? I know this is not the best case scenario but I did not yet install the proprietary driver (NVIDIA driver, for GTX 970, in my case) but it should run with Nouveau, right?
