Can't move one of my soldiers

I'm towards the end of a VIP extraction mission, but one of my soldiers won't move. Her movement area doesn't show up, and no "move here" icon shows up no matter where I move my cursor. She has two actions left, but I can't use them to do anything but attack (she is a Ranger but I can't even target anyone with Slash).

Anyone else run into this / have a fix?

Just had this happen, playing ironman with about 30 hours in, and WHAT THE LITERAL ♥♥♥♥!!!! I CANT MOVE ♥♥♥♥ AND MY GAME IS CRAP NOW??? SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PISSED I WANT TO STAB SOMEONE!!! ♥♥♥♥ THIS GAME!!!

it happens unfortunately as good as xcom is they wont fix all the bugs... the last xcom still has grevious bugs although they arent common they do happen still. after about a year they really stop fixing bugs if they dont happen always.... so im going to say its kinda stuck forever as you can see this is a year old topic and people still occasionally get this issue...todays standards for gaming sucks as we get screwed and they get payed!!!

I got a solution to this but its a little long. You have to save you game then quit. Then you go to properties on X-COM-2 game in steam, under the general tab there is a section that says launch settings, click this and type in "-allowconsole -log -autodebug" without the quotation marks. Relaunch the game and laod your save. Then in the game select the soldier that is stuck click somewhere else on the map and open the console which is either the ~ or ' key. type in TTC and hit enter. This will teleport your soldier to wherever your cursor is. This solved the problem for me

This just happened to me as well right now.

I'm on a VIP mission and my Ranger was on top of a roof and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Faceless ran across the map and attacked my Ranger, destroying everything and my Ranger fell on top of a sofa and now is stuck there. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying in Ironman mode.

Is there any penalty for using the console to move the Ranger? I ask this because some games disables some features if you use the console on them.

Got the same issue too... i resolved by using grenades and missiles on the target, making her bleed. Then, i used a Med-Kit to stop the bleeding, and then i picked up the body with my teammates for a safe rescue on Firebrand.

Probably what's happened is your soldier is on a null tile - easily achievable by falling from a destroyed roof onto an object below, ie. a printer prop that didn't get destroyed by the soldier on the fall.

Also have this problem but easily fixed... Next time this bug occurs make sure you perform all the relevant actions on your other characters THEN click on the Icon X (END TURN) found on your top right hand side of your screen.

i threw a grenade on the guy that got stuck (1 or 2 tile away so he don't die, make sure he is highlighted). it cleared whatever debris he was stuck on and he can move normally after that

Quick fix (which isn't perfect) that worked for me:

If you have a grenade left, throw it directly at the stuck person.

This worked in my case because my solder had fallen into a spot which you normally cannot move into, so the grenade destroyed the obstacle (was a chair for me) and allowed her to move afterwards.

I found this solution as well, though I want to mention you can manoeuvre your grenade throw so it destroys the obstacle while not damaging your soldier.

Very late to this but I got this error just now was lucky he had grapple on him waited for it to go off cool, it only worked for one location but it worked without hurting him. (Though the grapple was a on the same plane as him which I didn't think it could pick and still couldn't go to the higher building I thought it would.) So one other method if your lucky on who you have it on.

Four years later I still have the same issue. Reloading the game helped but this game is really garbage.
