XCOM 2 Red Screen Error Heres a Screenshot.

I cant figure this out. Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know whats causing it or how to fix it?

Red screen in Xcom2 = broken glide in Batman: Arkham Asylum for "some people" ? hehe

infernoaoz is getting a completely red screen, not a "red screen" overlay error. And he clearly owns the game. That's why I have no idea what's causing his issue as I've never seen that before.

How did i goof yes it is a pirated copy soo. Cant set there and tell me you havent downloaded music and ♥♥♥♥ its the same thing. Besides im not selling the pirated copy im playing it and thats it. Also i already fixed it.

i got a red screen like that when i ran it from the launcher in the game folder rather than the Steam shortcut hasn't happened since,i though my GPU was about to crap out

I used to own the pirated copy, played for a bit, then bought the game (If I enjoy a pirated game, ill buy the game)

I guarantee you have downloaded music you holier than thou prick. At Least I will admit what I do you hypocrite. Also like Raz I do the same thing I will download the Pirate copy and if I like it I will buy it. With games having so many probs these days im not waisting money on a game if its not good or crashes and craps out every time I play and yes I do buy the game if I like it. I can do alot more with the paid for game like multiplayer. Im just being smart dont get pissed at me if you arent smart enough to check something out first.

Yes I do the same. Thats why I have the games I do in my steam lib and on origin and uplay. Its just smart to check a game out 1st. Watching videos wont tell you how it will performe on your computer. Ive not even played any more Xcom 2 since this post. I want the multi player part of it as much as any part of the game and the Pirate copy doesnt have that.

Have the devs said that the red overlay is hook to identify non legtis ? cause judging from screen shots it kinda looks like a debug GUI error.

I added noredscreen in the target no review tho and it worked for me but im not sure if it fixed it since I only played that copy for like 1 hour just to see if it would be something I wanted to buy and the redscreen I guess doesnt happen on the steam version. Other than that the game worked fine. I just dont think its a game I will get just yet since I just got JC3 and want to finish it 1st then I might pick it up.

I have read in an another topic stating that ther is a program called, dependancy walker. You input the .exe file of the application and checks if any .dll is missing from the system32 windows library. For my case 6 .dlls where missing. I found 3 of them and after i placed them in their respective folder i have manage to play 2 straight hours yesterday morning and another one and a half hour straight in noon without any problem. The weird thing is that ther os no error reporting that those files were missing. Just a red screen and a pc restar.

I have learned something new today. Red screens exist. I did not know this and I've been using PCs/Windows since fiddling with base memory optimization in DOS to load all those pesky sound drivers etc. as well as a game :p

There's more stuff on this if you simply google red screen. I have not in all my years seen a red screen or even heard about it.

(This is the "all red" screen, not the transparent overlay in XCOM).
