Mac - Game will not start
I'm using a Mac with El Capitan OS. Game will not start - it launches small menu and when I click play all windows disappear and game will not start.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do your Mac specs match the minimum for the game?
snyman.alex Feb 5, 2016 @ 12:18pm
Great question - yes they do. I'm using Intel Iris but for a Mac 1.5 gigs matches and exceeds minimum reqs. Good on RAM and processor as well.

Can you tell me your specs?

Do you have the latest is update?

Thanks again for checking in - just did some trouble shooting. I restarted my Mac without but then disabled my internet security suite which seemed to actually fix the issue. I had the game boot succesfully

What did you do? This could help a lot of Mac users commander.

Good call.

- I went to system preferences - security and privacy - and gave Steam accessibility
- Rebooted my Mac
- I'm running Kaspersky Internet Security. I disabled the protection.
- Test ran game "in window"
- Game actually booted up and I've tried again with full screen successfully

I have Steam set to auto update my game so I believe I downloaded the Day One patch about an hour ago. I didn't change any settings with my graphics card or anything like that.

It's not just you. I'm having the same problem launching the Mac version. I have a different anti-virus suite and didn't turn it off when I got XCOM 2 to launch the two times it actually worked for me, so I suspect that isn't the issue.

For me it helped to "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" at Properties -> Local Files.

There's your problem - Kaspersky is the cause of complaints all over the Apple forums.

Andrew - I double what you said. I've been succesfully lauching XCom 2 since I turned off Kaspersky. It takes about 10 seconds to load but otherwise good to go. Game is awesome other than FPS issues so hopefully these kinks get figured out so more people can enjoy it.

"Verify Integrity of Game Cache" at Properties -> Local Files also worked for me. Game still runs poorly even at low graphics settings, but at least I can launch it again.

F-Secure for the Mac also caused problems. Running the game works with it disabled.
