vcomp120.dll missing
Hi,
I've got the problem, that before the game starts I get an error message "missing vcomp120.dll". I use a gamer pc, enough discspace and Win 10. Registry is clean. I used the Microsoft help for solving the problem, but nothing helps.

Any clue?
Thanks

Has anyone found a fix to this yet?

Re-install Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=40784

Re-Install doesn't help. It gets not properly installed. Checked sfc /scannow, found nothing. Clean boot neither. I get no propper install for the VcRedist under Win10. MS Support also no help so far. Anything?

In the games directory folders, theres 2 installs for VC, install the versions for your OS and then it should work.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\_CommonRedist

That should be the location.

If you can't actually install VcRedist, you can download individual dlls like vcomp120.dll. Some websites that offer them seem quite dodgy but I've done it for a long time and never gotten a virus or anything.

As I already wrote, re-install doesn't help either. There is a problem with the installation as well.

Download sites with .dll are all crap, I checked a lot of them, all with malware. Don't try this!

Meh, I've never gotten malware from them and you won't too if you're careful. Either way sounds like it's refund time for you.

It would help if you actually posted your specs, though.
Try following the links in the post above me, see if that helps.

I'm on windows 10 preview, and the download for the visual c++ 2013 distributable above comes up with an error because windows 10 is not supported in this package. After a few dead ends, I eventually found a youtube video which links to a page which has the file download on it:
http://www.sts-tutorial.com/sites/downloadCenter.php?vcomp120

Note: I tried another couple of websites before this one and got a virus warning from them so deleted the files, but I checked this one out using avira antivirus and there are no detected viruses on it (at the time of writing). I would advise you make sure your real time virus scanning is up to date when downloading dlls. And now xcom2 no longer shows the error and I can play me favourite game again!

Or grab them from MS: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2977003 (on full fat Win10 and the 2013 redistributable worked for me)

I'd really recommend avoiding those "missing DLL" sites.

I'm having a similar issue as the OP, except that my game worked just fine a couple weeks ago, and now all of the sudden I am getting a missing .dll file message? What would cause that? Why would it happen? And do I just need to reinstall the files?
