XCOM 2

Xcom2.exe - Bad Image
"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\VCOMP120.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains and error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f"

I continue to get this error whenever I try to launch the game even after uninstalling the game and redownloading/installing it, anybody know how I can fix this issues?

Xcom2 bad image error for MSVCP120.dll and Vcomp120.dll. I know about this issue for Windows 10 and the way to fix is by replacing the files completely.

Here is the answer: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

Download: Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013

And download all packages and this will help with all issues with the Bad image error for Xcom2 other games as well.

If it asks to replace do it!!

Leanne Clarke figured this out and she is IT QUEEN Facebook

Oh yeah I figured it out about 2-3 hours after I posted this, had to find and download vcomp120.dll but it fixed the problem.

need help with same problem, then tried to fix the problem by downloading the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2015, still same problem, must it specifically be 2013 version to avoid this problem?

I'd just say find a safe download for the file vcomp120.dll. That fixed the issues for most people who had this error. I used a program called Dll-Files Fixer to do it, I didn't mess with the whole Visual C++ thing, just download vcomp120.dll and it should fix it for you.

i used DLL-Files Fixer and it said it fixed the MSVCR120.dll file, but after installing XCOM2 same problem happens O.o what now?

Did you get the vcomp120.dll? that file specifically was what I was missing. Search for that dll file specifically and get it, even if you already have it, get it and see if that fixes it.

but the error message is this " The program can't start because MSVCR120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. " and I used the dll-files fixer and it fixed my msvcr120.dll file, then i tried reinstalling XCom2 and the exact same system error message came out, there was/is no mention of vcomp120.dll error

Then you don't have the same error that this thread is talking about. Install X-Com 2 and THEN run the fixer, if that doesn't work then I dunno what your problem is cause it's not the same one this thread is about. I never had a MSVCP120.dll error.

I had the same problem as you, use what Sanslife wrote and download from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784.

Then just follow what he says, that fixed the problem for me.
