Are you sure they are the same ones you made? The ones I made seem to be nowhere to be found at my base...
Once you have full access to the Armory section, you can recruit the soldiers you made from the 'Recruit' tab. At least that's where I found mine.
They still suffer the wrong class promotion, though, and I'm 110% certain of what classes I chose for them on the creation tool. I really hope this is fixed in a hotfix.
Edit: It's also so your friends can send you their customized characters so you can incorporate them into your game without having to replace a soldier or do a bunch of customization changes.
I haven't played enough, but is there an Officer's Training School equivalent? Perhaps once something like that is acquired, when they show up in the recruitment pool they'll be the class you gave to them.
While I can half-understand the point of it being just a preview of how they'd look in that class, I still find it misleading for people creating their characters. Especailly as it doesn't seem to indicate anywhere that it doesn't guarantee their class upon promotion.
I also wonder why they even decided to put in a 'Random class' feature in the creation tool as well if it's just a preview feature.
I'm sure others had the same intention in mind, but the soldiers I had planned on making were class/role specific, so now the creation pool serves no purpose for me.
I'll have to wait for the first rank on the soldiers I recruit and edit them there....unless the Officer's Training School alleviates that. Which if someone is far enough to test it I'm sure myself and many others would really like to know.
I think you mean the Guerilla Tactics School, and yes, you can manually train a soldier to be a specific class in there. It does take 10 days to train, but you get your specified class. :)
